More like if the two had a beautiful baby. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you have to refresh the page to see PMs. If there was an IM window, it would just bloop with a notification. And you wouldn't have to leave the forums to use it.
Upon further reflection, this may not be as good of an idea as I thought...

Just make a simple web client for the IRC.
TRIBES: Developed a server mod with 40 servers, 20 clans, and competitive league play.
PLANETSIDE: Got about 30 suggested changes implemented, and 40,000 game downloads via a 1Mb mini-installer I developed.

Just make a simple web client for the IRC.
