After playing way more consciously and using hawken.heroku.app a lot more I came to the conclusion the the way to a higher MMR, which is not directly my goal, is to forget about it and just focus on the skillimprovement, without looking at MMR.
99% of for me three star rated games consists of a few 2300+ and a whole lot of below 1500 rated players. The outcome of the match is rarely balanced.
Also as I recongnize more and more playernames I have witness major screw ups by the matchmaker. Two consecutive games in a row with almost no fluctuation went so horribly wrong and it was foreseeable just by looking at the playernames.
Either I'm gonna learn from the 2300+ players and slowly advance, or I will have the chance to improve when the playerbase broadens.
For now I don't really have the option to quit every bad match or stay out of 2 or 1 star rated game considering how much time I'm willing to spend in Hawken.
