Good day ladies and gentlemen!

 

 

 

 

 

 

After some consideration and a lot of putting it off I'm opening the sign-up period for the second Priority Target tournament. This is for two reasons: one is to see how interested you guys are and the other is to give teams plenty of time to form and sign up.

 

So, without further adoo: The plan.

 

The gamemode will be 4v4 MA, propably with some minor item restrictions. I hope that this will make for an interesting MOBA-like dynamic, with pushes and counters and all that good stuff. No custom gamemode, no permadeath,  just good ol' Missile Assault*.

 

*Actually some special rules to make it competitive will apply.

 

 

 

I would also like to announce the prizes for Priority Target II. The top 3 teams will recieve:

• Grand Prize: 5000 MC
• Silver: 2500 MC
• Bronze: 1250 MC

 

HOWEVER: if more than 20 people sign up these will be doubled. That's right: 10 000, 5000 and 2500 MC respectively.

_{Note: that's to be distributed among a team, not for every member individually.}

 

 

I'm Also looking into having small trophies 3D printed for the winning teams. Keep an eye out on updates in this thread (or join the steam group, obviously).

 

 

If you participate but do not reach the top 3, you will be entered into a raffle with a HC prize, where each member of that team will recieve 2500 HC. So, if you are interested, please sign up to the Steam group below with a 4 pilot team (and if needed backup players) and state your team name and members in the Signup thread. There's also a 'looking for team' thread if you want to see if there's still room.

Now, similar to the last tournament this is only the signup stage and a lot of things still have to be worked out. If you have any questions, suggestions, or anything else feel free to ask, share, or PM.

Addendum 1 | The item restrictions: 

 

So, just like last Priority Target tournament there are some restrictions to keep things from being boring:

 

Items that are not allowed:

 

• Scanner MK-I

• Scanner MK-II

• Scanner MK-III

 

Internals that are not allowed:

 

• Basic Extractor

• Repair Kit

• Extractor

• Advanced Repair Kit

• Composite Armor (requested by player)

• Armor Reinforcement (obtained by buying the sharpshooter pack).

Now, another option would be to use an MA based 1v1 format, with two teams of 3 members, each pair of opponents fighting over one silo. However I have concluded that simple is better at this time. Maybe sometime in the future.

It's gonna be vanilla MA, yes. Some restrictions will apply however, like item bans and no duplicate mechs, but otherwise nothing really special. Just the standard comp stuff.

Duplicate mechs aren't allowed, and Fred and Assault count as the same mech due to their extreme similarity.

 

That's gonna be pretty much everything in terms of rules. Rest is standard MA. Unless you find some major exploit or OP stuff that we have to prevent I don't plan for anything more complicated. Maps are chosen by vote, but that's pretty standard fare.

 

Yeap, that's about as specific as it's gonna get.

Edit 2: Also play deathmatch and do 1v1s; best straight up fighting skill based gamemodes.

A minimum four people team. A team with four or more members. An at least Four players big team. Four pilots in an alliance to battle against other similarly constructed teams. Four members of a community willing to spend some time in a virtual environment pretending to be pilots of futuristic mechanical war-machines somehow in a push-pull situation where they are shooting imaginary missiles out of an arena-like battle at the enemy's base.

 

As long as your PC runs HAWKEN and you're in a team everything's gonna be fine.

If it's the same as last time, games are played on EU private servers, there is a group stage with the top 2 from each group going on to a bracket stage until finals and a winner.

 

Freeze released a rule book last time, will probably be the same soonish.

Yup, the games will be played on EU servers, because of the private servers already present. The rules are standard MA rules, with some restrictions, which you can find in this thread or on the steam group.

 

As for the actual matches, I can tell you that the games will be played in the weekends, and will be streamed by Erzunterweltler. However the exact way this will work well depend on the amount of teams. However, right now the most likely is double elimination (winners and loser bracket), and the each match will be best of 5.

 

Some things like mid-game disconnects are looser than last time, because it's not permadeath.

 

But yea, join the group if you wanna keep up to date. That's where I'll be posting the planning first once it's worked out.
