The problem I have with all this downtime is this. A triple a title game is coming out next month and I know a lot of people have been waiting for it for awhile. That game is Overwatch from blizzard. As you know hawken doesn't have a big player base and with no update in awhile while having a highly anticipated game like that come out. May take the last breath away from this game. As people will ask themselves this, why play hawken with no true signs of development when I can play another arena fps I.e Overwatch that has a ton of development from start to the future. That is one reason why people want them to update or change the game in some major way as soon as possible.
Trying to compete with Overwatch is pointless. The reason is right there in your point - triple A. Hawken is four years and thirteen million dollars past being able to compete with triple-A games. They had a great chance to release something before/after the last private server announcement, but that was evidently not to be, and I am less a hat for it. With the spring/summer release schedule being what it is, if Reloaded so much as has plans for a patch, the best thing they could do is see if a given game bombs hard and then release with great fanfare on the heels of its failure.
Going head-to-head with a triple-A title is plainly moronic. Plan around them.

Well, eventually, Reloaded is going to have to do something, if for no other reason than to prove some of the doom and gloom predictions about Hawken false. It may not, or ever be able to go head to head with a AAA title, but in it's own class of FPS, something still eventually needs to be done. Probably doesn't matter if it's "Big bang" or gradual changes, but even a "hello world" from the devs from now and then would be nice, doesn't even have to be a dialog, they could chuck some bland announcement in a locked thread for all I care.
Just as long as PWE doesn't enter the conversation with ARC games client, then I'm just done.

Adhesive/Meteor got my money in the beginning. I wanted to support their efforts. I learned my lesson. When I see actual work being done and the results of that work, I may be inclined to support it. Im not giving coin to panhandlers who happened to steal someone else's spot on the street corner.

I feel you, but just because there's no new content doesn't mean that they're not doing anything. They keep our servers running, address support tickets, and help out with community events.
We can debate how well they do those things (probably at length), but at the end of the day, they still keeping this game running. I feel like it's worthwhile to support them in that regard, especially given how much I play this game.

I had a "sometimes" at the end of that sentence that I shouldn't have deleted.
They haven't helped with the prizes for quite some time now. At least several events went with no dev-supplied prizes.

I'd heard about that, and it's upsetting. A lot has been written on their lack of involvement in community events so I don't feel the need to elaborate, but it sure do suck.

Do you guys ever considered this other possibility? ----> Maybe some individual/s are been burning them out too much and/or they have seen things from the community to such an extent that, as a whole, has/have caused their actual participation in here.
Just an idea plus some of my intuition on this matter

yeah nah
Policy-wise hat's a shitty excuse for talking to the community maybe once a month. If League of Legends community managers can deal with responding to their cesspit of a forum on at least weekly basis, no public relations persona of Reloaded gets to pull that card.
Given that Tiggs is coming from the APB forums as well and these forums are tame as actual bunnies with fuzz by comparison, institutional barriers are more likely. And, you know, the quote that started this thread specifically stating "allowed."

easy, theres a time for that...
i say we just give it another month since last update came later than being monthly or weekly as this one is surely following suit which hopefully means since hiring was done in jan/feb and now it is april, we should really see what work they can get done aside from "ui fixes" and etc...

Echoing this. Almost any forum is going to have some level of dissent on it, and this is a forum populated by a community that has watched a game go through various development and business pitfalls. All things considered, I'd argue that this community is actually fairly tame compared to many.
If Reloaded turned off the tap of community involvement because they didn't like how we type, then they're in for a hell of a treat if this population gets any bigger.

You reap what you sow. The less the devs communicate, the more the tension will rise up. It reached a height during Dev Stalker times just because of the Great Silence. People get frustrated and start jerking in circles just because they have nothing better to do and get no input.Do you guys ever considered this other possibility? ----> Maybe some individual/s are been burning them out too much and/or they have seen things from the community to such an extent that, as a whole, has/have caused their actual participation in here.
Don't blame the community or even certain individuals if you have a bad community manager and no connection to the community or communcation at all and wonder why everything goes to fuzzy bunny.

Another simple possibility would be that they relatively recently told to us about what are they working on and have nothing new to share with us in here.

Why whould they keep it quiet..? I think it's because it just ain't pretty. Why would you want to say not pretty things to community this size and this sensitive? Maybe technical hurdles are still hurdles? Maybe some follow the money move who knows.
I hope im wrong :) and they're making all the toys you dream about but they just too shy to show any of it just now

The same reason the former devs had to stay silent. They are probably in the middle of some kind of deal or partnership and can't discuss until it's finalized.

Looks slightly healthier than eating at a McDonald's.
And that's because of the beer. There's more nutrition in a beer than in a meal at McDonald's
