Did you buy the MC before or after Reloaded bought Hawken?

I hate to say this, but why, other than it being unethical, should the DEVs care about 200 or so PC players across the world?  It's not like we're each showering them in money every week, are we?  If I was losing money every week, as some have stated that they are, I wouldn't keep it going either, despite feeling terrible about it.

 

I can definitely conceive of a business model where they basically say "We regret that we will lose these 200 PC players.  But t's just not profitable for us.  Consoles is where the money is at now."

You are missing the point; Point being: they haven't communicated this to us in any way, except as a disrespectful lack of communication.

It's more of a foolish thing to do in terms of the experience and knowledge being lost by jettisoning this community of favor of one that might not accept Hawken. Think of it as ditching the sure thing for a gamble when you might have been able to bring the sure thing along instead of outright dropping it the first chance you get.

 

Yes there is the business side of things, something I've mentioned several times I fully understand and acknowledge, however if that is the case I would like to know so now and not a few weeks from now or when (if) Hawken returns to PC that my account is wiped, I have to upgrade to Windows 10, and everything has been changed. There's literally no reason to keep us in the dark right now because Hawken for consoles is on full display at E3 for anyone and everyone to come check out. This isn't the typical update where we are speculating on what is going on based off cryptic posts from the dev team or listings for Hawken being rated on another platform, we have 100% confirmation that Hawken is alive, major changes are coming, and the NDA seems to be up on all that yet Reloaded just wanted to give us a timeline on what was happening while we all sat here thinking Hawken was gonna life on the PC.

 

So instead of using the years of experience this small player base has with Hawken, instead of making use of our eagerness to help out in so many capacities we literally had someone get work from this community by providing systems and functions the base game didn't offer (Ashfire always putting in work), instead of allowing us to contribute and provide examples of what works, what doesn't, and how things can be improved; instead of doing any of that Reloaded seems to have pretty much ignored us, forged ahead with something that looks like a bad idea (more mechs and such untested/unbalanced) and are now expecting us to be happy and supportive of the fact that we've been left behind.

 

I do hope I'm wrong though. I hope that Hawken is a finely tuned machine that is finally gonna get the love and exposure it deserves. I hope that weeks after Hawken releases on consoles it does well enough to warrant the PC version being updated and caught up. I hope I'm playing Hawken for another few years and that the community only continues to grow.

 

The problem is I know the difference between hoping for something and seeing the writing on the walls.

Well this may seem a weird analogy, but my son and I enjoyed Guild Wars and GW2.  Those were/are online games where you had to buy the game (for baout $40 at launch), but then afterward the game is totally free (except for cosmetic stuff).  In hindsight, because my son and I play Hawken so much, I would have gladly paid $40 for this game , even though it is still so "beta".  The question is how many of the rest of us would have done so.  Judging by how many "pimped up" mechs I see out there, I think its a fair number of the Veterans.  So it seems that if they had used this business model but also with a 1 week "free trial" mode like WOW and other games do, to see if you like it, it could have been a great PC title.  But by making it FTP you just cut into your revenues too much, and you have to offer some really outstanding things for people to spend their money on, and also have SALES.  To date I have never once seen a sale in the cash shop, and I don't know why not.

 

Anyway, just my own random thoughts...

I came back to see these changes and I will say this in the most polite way possible........Where the F@ck is my G2R!?! What happened!?! It's not on the list.   Please don't tell me you got rid of it like the Incinerator.

What I find interesting is that the two mechs at the top of the screenshot are both G2 raiders. However one is the photo from the mech shop, and the other seems to be a screenshot taken in the garage. They likely changed its name to reduce confusion among newer players. Makes sense though considering you have to max out a regular mech to gain access to the G2. The G2 raider plays so much different than the raider though which is why I agree with this suspected movement.

 

Congratulations you have regained the majority of my trust and respect back. I did react poorly to the unknown and I'm ashamed.

If they name it the Turkey I think I will legitimately happy with all of this.

Oh thank god, it looks like they changed the icon so it's 3 arrows but it is the G2R. Not sure what the center icon is though, a possible shield or something?

Because those 200 PC players can, and some of them do, go out and tell the thousands and thousands of potential console players "This company mistreats its customers. The game right now is terrible and the console version shows no signs of actually fixing the underlying problems. Do not buy Hawken."

Not sure if it's already been discussed, but doesn't it seem like both time to kill and time to repair are a lot faster?  I mean, this guy seemed like a total noob, and yet was both racking up kills and repairing at rates that didn't appear to be normal.  Annnnnnndddd...with a Predator that wasn't even used like a Pred should be used!  Is it just me...??

I love how all this information is readily available at E3 but for some reason we can't anything in the way of answers about what is happening with Hawken, the new builds, and what we should expect.

 

Guess this is final confirmation that Reloaded doesn't overly care about us, our thoughts, or generally where things are heading in regards to us.

 

This isn't NDA territory anymore, this build is live and being showcased at E3 quite actively yet we know jack squat about the new build, changes, mechs, or even what the future holds for the PC platform.

 

Call me crazy but the longer this week goes on the more annoyed I'm getting because it is now Friday, we got a mediocre update explaining the silence and how unimportant the PC version has been from the start, and we still have little to no information about what is going on other than the consoles are getting all the love and any hope we have of seeing this update get to the PC comes from the console version being successful.

 

I've been pretty damn patient throughout every silence and how long Hawken has been stuck in limbo but now I'm running out of patience because information is out there, a playable build exists on consoles being showcased, and we've got nothing for information having to reduce ourselves to mass speculation based off screen grabs and unofficial footage uploaded to Youtube.

 

Anytime you want to start showing the community some good will beyond why we're not important would be awesome Reloaded Games, Lady Tiggs, or Cap N' Josh. How long do we have to stay out in the dark and cold before you either tell us we've wasted our time and to move the hell on or tell us exactly what is going on with the game we've supported since it released in 2012.

 

The speculation and unknown nonsense is old. Give us actual answers already because none of this is looking good or promising from where I'm sitting based on past updates. Looks like we're repeating all the same mistakes again and once more could have easily avoided this if the massive resource that is the community was properly utilized. Course I might be completely wrong but how would we know cause Reloaded isn't telling us anything while showcasing this build at E3 that anyone can walk up and play...

 

Yea I'm getting sick of this and growing salty. 

 

Also if an account wipe happens I'm done. I've got more MC than I can shake a stick at, even more HC, a ton of EXP, all my mechs setup the way I want, and I'm not about to start over cause Reloaded decided to move the game over to consoles and blew off the original community.
