they redid the online game guide

somebody either did a really fuzzy bunny job at redoing it or reloaded literally changed the entire game

feast your eyes on a few examples, there's more to be found

say goodbye to existing community game guides and my entire fuzzy bunnyng compilation is useless unless somebody did a fuzzy bunny job

no incin, Assault is now G2 assault, Grenadier dual wields the RevGL, nobody has the T32 Bolt, Scout starts with HEAT cannon, Infil starts with EOC Repeater, and the list goes on for stuff that isn't around

Vanguard with Bear, ROFL.

Strictly worse than Vulcan in almost every respect on that mech.

God, that lot are incompetent, one way or another.

The disappoint would be unfathomable if my scout loses the flak.

This would certainly create 30 mechs though, but absolutely no new content.

It doesn't specify which Bear, and it could be a "brand new" "rebalanced" Bear for all we know

30 new mechs, my ass.  If mechs have no alternate weapons as it might appear on the game guide, then the 30 mechs RLD is claiming might just come from a shitton of different weapon combinations from existing mechs.

Changes so drastic like these reinforce my suspicions that Reloaded doesn't have too much interest in maintaining the current playerbase and community with alterations such as these.  Unless there was a "veteran player group" that signed an NDA and helped test these things, Reloaded has not consulted the skilled community at all, and I doubt Reloaded has hit the "around 2000 MMR" skill range playing against bots in order to make changes that can positively influence casual and competitive Hawken gameplay.

Which, in turn, fuzzy bunnys with the incin.

I love this. I love it in the manner that I loved coming to on my last plane to exile, hung over and braced for the pain that would come.

This is gonna be a shitshow.

RIP Hawken, RIP Assault,, gr8test mech in game. One of the remaining good things in hawken was that all mechs were very good balanced. The GRen is useless now, even more the Revl-GL gren was before. Assault g2 replaces salt. RIP Raider, Bolt raider was the real cornerplay raider, with the finest skillfull gameplay.

These guys are incompetent as one can be, tis is impossible. Just do "something" before we do nothing wioth a game.

Did these guys ever heard about the golden rule "never touch a running system"?!

The only real Problem Hawken had was too small palyerbase and hackers.

It's like no one playtested this or even thought why a weapon with that fire rate or heat gen was attached to a mech WITH TWO HEAT REMOVAL OPTIONS.

From the Hawken Facebook page from their latest update:

"The game progression system and content system has been vastly redesigned for the console versions. The PC version will get the same upgrades when we can finally release that version too."

I think what we see on the game guide is what we will eventually see in the game for PC.

THAT had better not be permanent. I sincerely hope they did this to show off a big-drum minigun and not actually give the vanguard a weapon that is not designed for it in the slightest. The BBY could in theory be used by other mechs but it really won't be nearly as effective nor balanced as the other weapons that the vanguard has on loadout. This is coming from a guy who made it to round 21 on co-op bot destruction with a stock scout that unfortunately got the PPA glitched onto it with only one other non-bot teammate.

I do have screenshots at home to prove it

I got that impression as well(one version coming), but the game guide only lists heat on the scout and in the linked video above a scout kills the player with a mini-flak. So I would wait a little for some clarification on what Hawken will become.

That's its starting primary weapon. Based on how things look I'm starting to think they consolidated (haha pun) weapon redundancies like the multiple B3AR weapons and the mechs with the 3 classic machine gun primaries on them. I wouldn't be surprised if they scrapped the Incin all together, but so help me if they scrapped the G2 raider... I will join in on the virtual and verbal lynching directed at reloaded. That is where I draw the fuzzy bunnyng line

Edit: They did say specifically that they were RE-LAUNCHING Hawken, and all things considered it is THEIR property to do with as they wish. If they do however completely wipe any mechs from this game at all (not just the G2) they will have one extremely livid son of a fuzzy bunny on their hands. In my over 3 years of consistently playing this game, over one third of my time has been in the G2 raider and as for the other mechs I have many very good memories with them as well.

30 mechs, where they just come up with different names for every weapon combo we have already?

Also if they're gonna put the B3-AR on it they should at least tell us which one of the 3 weapons with that suffix it is.

I can't help but notice that the scanner, rather than being removed from the game as it rightfully deserves, was added as a starting item for multiple mechs. It's almost like no one at RLD has ever read these forums.

EDIT:

items have cooldowns AND charges listed.

Oh my lawd. What a shitshow. The mech and weapon balance so far was so close to being just right, and... this?

Tiggs and Josh, I hope you clarify this soon. Why bother changing it? The console community at large wasn't going to be "used" to playing Hawken in its current form, so you could have left it all alone and it still would have been "new" to them.

I mean, it could work. I have no idea what they're planning, and the panic we're feeling now could be like how the Ascension patch felt for our forefathers and foremothers.

But woaaaaah boy.

So I got this game called "Squad" the other day, and it's really quite neat. It's a milsim, and it's pretty good at doing that - but the thing that really, really, really stands out in it is the communication. You play at a scale of something between 36 v 36 up to 50 v 50 on these really big maps, and your team is divided into squads of 9 or 10 depending on the total number. You have 3 VOIP PTT buttons. One of them communicates directly with your squad via radio. The next communicates with any friendlies in your vicinity. The last only applies if you're a squad leader, and is a direct line of contact with the other squad leaders. The thing is, people actually take it for realsies and make a sincere effort to communicate and organize these comparably massive teams over several kilometers of map. You can go for multiple minutes with no enemy contact and it's still fun, and then all of the sudden it breaks down into hectic 10v10 or more fairly long distance firefights and it's just super engaging.

Anyway, I'll be over there for a while.

Just had a thought...

What if each mech will have multiple secondaries to choose from now? I'd be OK with that actually.

Source: Take a look at the Assault page; Clearly it starts with two vulcans now, but the sidebar still mentions TOW rockets?

CONCERNED

This is quite frightening, and if this is really what things are going to look like at release this is going to be WAY worse than ascension was.

If this is really happening I might wish Hawken a swift death rather than see if become this perverse shade.

Maybe they are trying to get us to leave?  From a business standpoint, getting rid of the vets make sense, we just ruin player retention by stomping newbies and its not like there are enough of us to support the game.  Maybe they're looking for a "fresh start."

Gotta say, I feel a bit like I've been thrown under the bus here.

As much as I like this idea, it degrades the uniqueness of every mech. It's more effective to have a larger variety of mechs with unique weapons than a few mechs with a larger variety of weapons combinations. It's like specialization in a workforce, though i hope the game doesn't follow that trend.

I have to say I half support this move. I've been feeling for a while now that the veterans of this game were the lynchgate, heralding the clergyman's arrival. We scare new players far too much and have a toxic apathy.
