Actually I was thinking about this thread again. Because at the moment ... I am drinking a cold, fresh beer at a warm summer evening.
Relaxing.

The difference between theory and practice is smaller in theory than it is in practice.
All the brews, all the time. Light, dark, hoppy, malty. As long as it's not "lite" or something with fruit in it, I will enjoy. Porters & stouts tend to be my favorite (Especially oatmeal porters), but I appreciate all well-crafted brew. As I don't typically drink beer to get drunk, but because I actually just really like beer, taste and substance are important (My tolerance is pretty high, BTWs; If I wanna' get trashed, which I usually don't, you'll find me with wine or THE LIQUOR (IT WORKS BOTH WAYS) But beer is king).
If I am playing Hawken, chances are high that I am also enjoying a cold one.

"DeeRax's got what you've always wanted."
Is anyone else going through this stupid hop craze? I swear, if I see another god damn IPA....
"This?" What the hell do you mean "this?" Your bloody country has been on a hops bender for so long the sewers next to your brewpubs SMELL LIKE A ROTTING GARDEN.
To be fair a good chunk of Canada is the same but thank fuzzy bunny for Quebec.
Fair enough. I blame the hipsters, thus my suspicion that Oregon has it particularly bad

This precedes hipsters by a decade, though maybe they're responsible for the latest surge.
But.... But.... WHY?!?! THERE'S SO MUCH GOOD BEER YOU COULD MAKE! INSTEAD OF THIS ?$%*&!
Salvage: An Idea to Stop Leavers
I've had plenty of good IPAs. But I have to be in the mood for one.
I agree, there are way too many, and most are unremarkable.
"DeeRax's got what you've always wanted."
Oh, and I am from Germany, so my word is true about beer.
*cough*
Pilzn: Ur-quell
The True Source (or Well)
Isn't Pilzn in Czesky?
Now, Stortebecker is an interesting name... 'drain the cup' (beaker), right? but that is the name of one of the Victual Brothers, a set of Hanseatic pirates back in um... 1400 AD? The Pirate King?
Can I try that beer in the states?
Did I say Call Me Ishmael?
You should call me Luna.

Willamette has it's share of hop farms. Pretty much from San Francisco up the coast to Olympia is prime hop-growing climate.

Oh, and I drink/brew-and-drink enough beer that my word on beer is true.
Or something.
ANNNNND, I am drinking Staropramen at the moment.

Anyway, just finished a nice 22oz of Vader by Gilgamesh (out of Salem, dark ale with coffee). Now, time for pint night!

Well, after a quick visit to Scotland, and getting to know Punk IPA, gotta say, I dont regret stealing that emblem :3 Still think they owe me rather than chasing me after buying so much beer...

Volunteered at a beer festival today. Volunteer benefits included 40oz of tasting. Believe me when I say that I cannnot possibly express the myriad beers represented here, just know that Oregon is rad and this is how we survived 100 F

Well I can definitely recommend czech beers like Kozel. Both the dark and the pils.
Tastes super creamy, almost comparable to Guinness. It's light, though. :)
As for german beer: Helles, Ebensfelder. ...
And ofc the beer that is being brewed in my hometown:
Sternburg is considered a rather bad beer. It's 50 cents a bottle, though. :)
This thread deserves to be revived. You all missed probably the best beer on the planet (and also hard as hell to get if you're not in Chicago), Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout. This stuff is beautiful.

Most recently, because of the fuzzy bunnyng fuzzy bunny that Xacius is, I've been drinking Ninkasi Tricerahops for my IPAs - this one being a double.
I've also been on something of a binge of Dark Truth Stout by Boulevard Brewing Company, but a short while ago came under the impression that it was too sweet for the binges I usually go on. I will still happily enjoy it, but more likely as either a desert beer or as an item to break up the monotony of stupid party beers when I'm not in the mood for Bourbon, Whisky, or Scotch.
Were it not so expensive, there's a Russian Imperial produced by a company formerly named "Rasputin" now known as "Cease and Desist" that I would drink much more often - but a single standard sized bottle can cost around $10.

Hey. Tomorrow is the party. Tonight was just prep. You hush.
So my skydiving club has a rule: When you cross the 'beerline' (safety line) you have to bring beer the next time. Not just one bottle, but a whole box with 16 bottles.
Plus the boxes for your first jump, first solo jump and when you get your license and the FreeFly-Permit. So in the end I have to bring 4 boxes (x 16 = 64 bottles).
Now I know why they have a night party like ... every night. With steaks and bbq and ofcourse, BEER.

16 bottles pack? Never seen O_o
Here we only have 24 or 6. It's kinda perfect actually. A case or "kasse" (24) for when you need to teach your liver who's tha boss, and the 6'er for when you just wanna have a couple or six.

Hmmm ... you even could be right, have to look again but I am actually pretty sure it was 16. However, we also have like 11 so whatever lol.

Ew. Easily my least favorite Oregon brewery. Talk to me when they're actually capable of producing anything under 9000 IBUs
