This game is fairly straight forward. Yet there are areas that Gaming and Social ethics can apply.

 

I would like to start a rational debate about Gaming Ethics and what they mean.

 

         First premise: Your pixelated avatar is you online, your words, actions, and treatment of others matters.

 

This is hotly debated throughout gaming and the various social forums of the internet. "I can be who I want online as it doesn't matter" But I argue that it does indeed matter. When nearly 60% of your waking life now takes place in some form of online interaction how you act is the deeper you. A very real reflection of who you really are. What you do when you think no one knows who you are is who you really are. Talking smack, trolling, ganking newbs, spawn camping, rage quitting, kicking people for inexperience. Those are actions of gaming that reflect poor ethics.

Talking smack can be inherently playful in contests of skill.

Trolling can also be an integral part of competitive play, eg., "baiting".

While I can agree that kicking players solely for inexperience in casual pubs can be egregious, in ranked competitive play or during organized practices or matches it is a necessary function.

I would not insist these particular instances do not reflect anything whatsoever in the way of degenerative ethics.

There is playful smack talking and then there is not. When it is genuine or intended to ruin a person... The other day in this very game I had a kid don't know his age but since he had a high voice preteen at most. he told me He slept with my mother. I came back at him and told him glad she is still getting some since she is 70 years old. Mine was playful his was designed to anger me. I laughed and he laughed but it could have been different. 

 

Trolling in a match to bait someone into a trap is not trolling. Trolling is intentionally being an ass to watch the world burn. Baitng someone into a fight in a discussion or spamming their messages, repeatedly calling them out in-game chat with no other goal than to get them to rage back or quit.

 

Your practices should be set on private servers, or you need to allow those people to stay. Ranked matches should matchmake to avoid low levels and high levels ever seeing each other.

It's not off topic. Their ethics and guidelines for behaviour match yours closely and I thought you might have been influenced by them as they are a massive and wide-spread clan.

Is this for real? Please tell me you're trying to be funny. In a world full of over-sensitive people, gaming is my escape. Personally, I am very respectful, unless someone starts something, however I don't want all of this PC nonsense to ruin my escape. If a child acts like a little s*** and you don't put him in his place, then you have failed as an adult. You should know more comebacks than him and be way better at gaming. If not, you need to find a new hobby that's gentle enough for your feelings.

My personal gaming ethics are:  I don't actively seek to verbally spar with or abuse others.  I try my best to walk a spiritually enlightened path with Christ as my role model.  While I personally don't use trash talk I understand that it can be a part of any game and I don't mind when I hear it used.  I always play to the best of my ability during any online multiplayer game (even though my skill set is sometimes sub par I find that by working hard I can usually turn out moderately good performances).  If I'm a burden then I fully expect and understand that I could be kicked, I don't take it personally.  

 

I find that some of my better performances happen after I've caught a slight buzz from a glass or two of wine.  I try not to over indulge.

 

I believe that we, the race of mankind, should love one another.  Engage in healthy heavy mech combat in all out brutality while wearing the cologne of our choice and always as brothers, not hateful enemies.  The world is not that large a place and the gaming world is even smaller.  We're all in this together and the world can be what we choose to make it.

While playing TDM and getting our butts kicked, I think I died like 10 times, anyway frustration kicks in and one player starts in saying things about how bad other players are. My point being if your running a Mic and place yourself above others in game play take charge and lead , this group was scattered , the other side was not. it is supposed to be a TEAM .
