@ 2120 MMR you're already very good, but it is true that playing in an organised team will make you even better (scary thought) :)

Hey folks, now, I know it says in the KDR scriptures that...
"thou shalt not spameth this holy thread with unruly gifs and the like"
Well, Vilyria did something pretty awesome and we wanted her to post it here.
So, Vily gets a Giffy day pass for being pure awesome sauce...

Just a quick note about timings for Sunday's session.
Thins were, understandably, a little sloppy last week as it was the first session and I had a billion fuzzy little bunnies flying around my head.
Here is how I see it running on Sunday.
Session starts at 20:00GMT / 19:00UTC and finishes at 21:30GMT / 20:30UTC
1. People begin to populate the KDR HAWKEN TS no later than 5 minutes before the session starts.
2. Everyone checks down to the KDR HAWKEN Briefing room at 20:00GMT / 19:00UTC - (KDR TS Talking protocol applies)
3. We have a 5 - 10 minute briefing regarding any clan business, announcements and session preparation.
4. We split into the relevant squads, check into our designated TS rooms and play HAWKEN for approximately 1 hour.
5. You then have 15 minutes to either have a small team debrief or play a fun game mode.
6. At 21:25GMT / 20:25UTC we all check back into the KDR HAWKEN briefing room for a group debrief. - (KDR TS Talking protocol applies)
Should you wish to stay in the server after the session (and you are all welcome to of course) I will be adding a new TS room called The Mess Hall for use outside of official session times. This is so we can free up the other rooms for admin, maintenance and recruitment purposes.
Thanks
Pasta

It may be for you fake but you are not the only guy in the clan. The timing is meant to accommodate as many EU time zones as possible while making it convenient for the majority.

Ik Ik this as well and I am not saying that it should be changed instantly but these are the times from pre-Hawken-Fall, from TAW, right? So a new vote sooner or later would be nice for me.

TAW practice times used to start 30 minutes later at 20:30 GMT when I joined. It later got reduced to 20:00 GMT after discussions across the group.
So I'm all for democracy and everyone having an opinion. As Pasta says though it has to suit the majority, and ideally not stop people from attending -which was an issue in TAW with going earlier than 20:00 GMT, some indeed wanted a later start than 20:30.
For example every second Sunday I am away, and have a 3 hour train journey which gets me home anywhere between 17:30 and 19:00 GMT.
I probably wouldn't want to commit to attending a practice earlier than 20:00, as I was very tired last Sunday even after having a little rest.
It was tons of fun on Sunday as video should prove, but I wouldn't want to feel obliged to attend if i felt too tired to enjoy it - which actually was one of the reasons I left TAW .
That's just my personnel circumstances, other will have their own. Everyone's opinion is important, balancing the groups is very hard.

Originally TAW practice sessions were 21:00GMT - 22:30GMT The problem was that that was too late for the guys from Russia as it meant that they were starting at Midnight. We all agreed (after a long discussion between myself and Seron and then a vote) that we would bring it forward a half hour and even a decision like that took some doing. But, that was TAW.
This is KDR, I have, after a lot of thought, taken the decision that we should start at 20:00GMT. This is because we need to accommodate people with other commitments such as work and family. Many of us have jobs and/or are in a relationship so we can't really go any later. (In Finland members start at 23:00). Some of us have Family commitments as NinjaGoat stated above. Seron is in Texas so his start time is about Midday (if I remember rightly) MadHamlet wants to join us but struggles with it being so early because of his young family.
I did not make the decision lightly and before I did I asked for anyone to contact me who would struggle with the time slot and they did. It is impossible to make everyone happy with these decisions. I have worked with big ensembles and bands of musicians all my life and know very well how hard it is to gather any group of people together in one place at the same time.
I have tried to be as democratic as I could be with this but eventually someone has to say "This is how it is". I made a promise to you all at the start that I would make all our important decisions democratic ones as I have done with the Clan Tags / Forum Signature vote. On this topic though, eventually, someone has to have the final word.
On the suggestion of "flexitime"; I can't really see that working. We need everyone in the same place at the same time or it becomes a nightmare for planning any kind of productive session. It also negates the point of being in a clan somewhat.
I hope this answers some of those questions and addresses some of those doubts. I am more than willing to discuss individual issues with people. You are all welcome to contact me at any point. That way we can come to a mutual understanding about these things outside of what is a public forum.
On Maniac's point about the hierarchy, I will be addressing this in Sunday's briefing.
Thanks
Pasta

Even tho us finns the time is very late, I haven't ever had any problem about it.
If there is something to do on the next day (work/school) sleep might get bit short but it's just once a week.

Yea, time will always be an issue. Therefore its all down to making the best time for the majority of the people to attend a majority of the time.
That means almost no one will have a time that works for them 100% of the time, instead we should be aiming for around 80% of the time (In TAW it was 65-70%, but to me that is a bit too low to have consistent teams and building a community/camaraderie). So I think what you're aiming for is good Pasta, as long as people keep in mind this isn't supposed to be the perfect fix for everyone.
With that said, seeing as I'm the only US guy (And have citizenship from a country across another pond entirely ), don't worry too much about matching my time. I'll make it work as long as its weekends.
