You use these intuitive quite fast. At least when you have some gaming sense.

Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome video. Very professional. It's more like a showoff how the main game mechanic works and varies though.

Yet very useful for people with no Gaming-background I guess!

Will you make more of these WolfyFTW_

And what program did you use to animate the checkerboardlike parts_

It's the best Hawken related video i've seen ^_^

I love the video! The little CR-T animations are awesome teaching tools that put me in a conceptual state of mind automatically.

Also, RentaKnight seems top-notch and classy and all, but I think many players have 'discovered' most of these techniques through experience and becoming fluid and familiar with how the mech moves. I think Wolfy's terminology and presentation are the definitive standard, so please don't mistake this for criticism. I like to ponder these moves as much as the next guy when I'm not playing, but when I am in the fight I try to just move as necessary for the fight and not think about forms and technical maneuvers. At some point you move beyond form into function, so on..*strokes long white beard*

I finally got around to watching this, and I am going to have to start using that speedy 180. I think I do the rest from time to time, but hadn't really conceptualized them or thought about when to use them.

I was just making a joke. :(

And yes, many of the more advanced players have discovered a lot of these tricks themselves, but these videos are great for collating these strategies, and it helps less advanced players up their game.

I'm really glad that you feel that way, because that was my goal for this series - something that crystallizes the thought processes of good players and puts them on display for newbies, who can then consciously focus on developing those skills themselves, if they so choose.

As annoying as it is, it's also really disheartening when players say things like "stop hacking" or "looks like you paid to win". It means they've given up on trying to improve, and are looking for external factors out of their control to explain something that's more attributable to skill than anything else.

I don't have anything against people who play the game for fun and have no desire to get better - honestly, I can say I had the most pure fun as a 12 year old just noob tubing people in online games. What bothers me is that people who say things like "p2w" and "hax" so clearly /want/ to be better, but don't know how.

I've been L and R dodging all day and it's really helped me evade a lot of shots and close distance quick on my Brawler thanks Wolfyftw!  And in one game this morning I went 24 and 0 which was an epic feeling in a Class C.

I find it extremely odd when I accidentally stumble on the tactical manoeuvres you've documented here through trial-and-error. "Wow. He managed to put my happy accident into a strategic context!" goes through my mind whenever I watch one of your videos.

That being said, I was completely floored by the 180 degree turn while boosting. Never in my wildest dreams would I have explicitly thought of doing that, so in that sense, your video succeeded massively.

Hand over your videos! The people demand it!

Hmm_

Starting the planning stage for the next video - maybe something for those neglected C-classes_ Any suggestions on the format/focus/seriousness_
