February is here and HAWKEN is celebrating both Valentine's Day and the Chinese New Year in style with the Hearts of Fire promotion! Starting February 12, we're introducing four new camouflages, two for each holiday, and a special thruster as limited-time offers.

Valentine's Day: LESSTHAN-3 and AU-REVOIR

Chinese New Year: DGN-SCALE, LUCK-DGN, and DGN-BREATH

Pilots will be able to purchase any of the camouflages permanently, and it will automatically become available to all present and future mechs the pilot may own; no need to purchase them individually. The thruster will also be available for purchase, but it is on a per-mech basis.

To fill HAWKEN with these seasonal styles, pilots will be able to "rent" the Hearts of Fire items for free. These free rentals will expire on February 19. Also, as a token of love to the HAWKEN community, pilots will be able to claim the LESSTHAN-3 Valentine's Day camo for free, also until February 19 at 12:00 PM PST.

These cosmetic items will leave the shop when Hearts of Fire ends on February 26. Get yours before they're gone!

ALL OVER THIS. But, I too wonder if the thruster is permanent or a temporary rental. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. I hope you guys heard those of us who asked for permanent thrusters during the Frostburn event. Shaddap, Elix, you got ninja'd, lol.

Also, Scapes... is this the arrival of the shared inventory system_ Or is there a workaround in place for now to allow the Hearts of Fire camos to be multi-mech in the short term until shared inventory is here_

I'm not the devs, nor Chinese, but I'm guessing that the dragon camo is just a dragon, not The Year Of The, since the Year of the Dragon just ended.

One of the new chinese year skin should be free too, just suggesting.

You'll need a credit card, or Paypal (I'm not sure if there are other payment options in some countries), to buy Meteor Credits. You purchase them from the Add Credits button at the top of the site when you're logged in.

The only items that you need Meteor Credits to buy are decorative items like the skins. All weapons can be purchased with Hawken Credits, which you earn in-game. The decorative items are not free because that's how Hawken makes money, since it's free to play. That would be why they aren't giving more skins away for free.

Which is why it's a cultural faux pas to release a Dragon themed "Chinese New Year" cosmetics after the year of the Snake started.
Don't get me wrong, they look good and I'll probably pick up the Scales paint.
But being Chinese, this sort of mistake is a little embarrassing to see.

It's a first test of that functionality.

I told people it was coming. Here's another step closer. I was not expecting to see the shared inventory show up in what is otherwise a content announcement.
