Why not_ I don't see anything wrong with updating us on what's being prepared. People do wait, as long as they know stuff is coming. It makes everyone happy to know things about incoming new content, it prevents players from getting bored and keeps them excited.

No need to write a speech, just few notes about any new maps, modes, mechs.
