Liked Noragami? Check out Yozakura Quarted - Supernatural beings are trying to live peacefully amidst humans. One second you have lighthearted slice of live, the next second all hell breaks loose. (Oh, and you'll want to know this before you start)

 

Currently watching - Scrapped Princess starts of as like your standard fantasy story, but its actually scifi in disguise.

(Things start to get interesting at episode 4)

Has anybody ever finished gurren laggen? I'm curious if I should watch it or not. I've seen a few reviews too, it seems pretty interesting

To sum it up briefly, it's an adventure of a wimpy kid, a charismatic badass, a homosexual guy and a busty 14 year old :D

Knights of Sidonia was really good, enjoyed season 1 and I'm eager for season 2 which should be out soon. Appreciated how brutal the series is, and the more realistic take on space life / battles.

 

Gundam 08th MS Team / Miller's report is still my favorite mech centric anime to date. The mechs have a very gritty, heavy, tank feel to them, and the war is portrayed as a war vs some fantasy bs.

LOL I think a easier question would have been what is the meaning of life? That can be a very, very complexe answer. There many, many types of anime. It is at its basic I higher form of artwork than cartoons. From there it just multiplies into hundreds of forms and subforms. I honestly think it would be easier mate to go google anime and start reading. Then read on the subtypes. The following link would be a good starting point.

You ask is it worth doing all that? Yes it is. While this can be simiiar to american cartoons, most of the time it is not. And sometimes the storylines run deep as in the new show on Netflix (waiting for season 2) called The Knights of Sedonia. A very unique anime manga that has excellent artwork and storyline. I am sure you would find one if not more styles to your liking FakeName. Check it out. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Cartoons with continuity. It's hard to get hyped up about a serializations that doesn't have cliffhangers. The vast majority of western cartoons are procedural shows that usually press the reset button at the end.

AKIRA was one of the most amazing anime ever made, especially in the time it was made. Yeah I've seen and completely enjoyed the remastered version.

Akira and Cowboy Bebop were the first animes Iever watched. Pretty much ruined everything going forward, nothing could live up to those two.

Anyone watch Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans yet?  It's amazing!  Dem ballistic weapons and tanky mobile suits..... hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng....!  Also, the story is pretty top notch so far.

I just finished both seasons of Log Horizon, would recommend to anyone, especially if you've played MMOs - it stays very true to how you'd expect an MMO to play.

 

I would also recommend it for the OP alone, DATABASE DATABASE WOWOW

How did it take me this long to find this thread... i never knew something as magical and amazing as this existed on this forum (that is until we get Capn' Josh to do a wet T-Shirt contest) 

so imma post a bunch of pictures of anime i enjoy now.

^this one i love because half the time its action and the other half makes you think "WTF am i even watching"

^Not fully through this one, but it has similar comedy to deadpool, in the sense it knows its a show, and it will exploit the living hell out of that

^neat little spookey mystery story involving a "cursed" class in 1998 (a little gory at times, nowhere near Corpse party levels though)

^one of the few love stories that has almost made me cry.

And last but without a doubt not least, the anime that made everyone happy ^this beauty, i don't think i know anyone that didn't enjoy watching through this one, even my friends who don't normally enjoy anime

First anime I watched was Dragonball Z...then it was Dragonball. Gotta say I'm a bit hyped for Dragonball Super and when it comes out in English. Why do I want to watch it in English? Well, I'm not a fan of watching anime in Japanese (although I have watched season 1 and 2 of Swordart Online in Japanese). Also the fact that I grew up in DBZ in English...and i hate the Japanese Goku's voice.

 

However, I'm currently watching Naruto (yes, I'm super late) and some Parasite.
