So I've been doing some thinking after reading a bunch in the forum. So many various suggestions flying around on removing or nerfing things:
- Remove orb
- Remove scanner
- Remove items in general
- Remove air compressor
- Remove internals in general
- Remove hellfires
- Remove helix repair torch
- The list goes on!
But I don't think anybody has actually considered the root of the problem. Ladies and gentlemen, I am proposing a most brave and adventurous endeavour: Removing mechs from the game.
Yes it may polarise the community, but let's just take a look at the very clear pile of evidence:

Scanners
People claim "oh scanners are op, you can't flank because it sees everything on radar". Well now, let's consider this:
- Just where do these items come from? Mechs of course! Mechs are the ones solely responsible for deploying these items.
- Where exactly is the radar? If you guessed "in a mech" then you are absolutely correct! Without mechs in the game, there would be no radar to reveal your flanking in the first place!
Orblords
Ah yes, orblords. Right and left in the forum we see complaints about the orblord. But what is it that healing orbs heal? MECHS OF COURSE! Coupled with the reasoning for scanners above, I don't think I need to say more about this.
Air compressor
I think it's quite straightforward to simply say that the air compressor goes on a mech. Without the mech, the air compressor wouldn't be OP as it is now.
Hellfires
And now in the other direction, hellfire missiles. In fact, hellfires themselves are quite disagreeable in this forum -- half of the users believe they are too overpowered, and the other half believe they are are completely useless.
Overpowered:
- They cause massive distractions. And where exactly is this distraction caused? From the cockpit of a mech.
- They require no aiming skills. And they're being fired from a mech!
- They deal massive damage. What are they dealing massive damage to? A mech. Where is it coming from? another mech.
Underpowered:
- They miss 90% of the time: So the mech they are on is effectively useless and thus mechs are a waste of disk space
- They do virtually no damage: The mech taking damage is too overpowered and the mech dealing it is too weak. Remove mechs please for balance
- They are easy to dodge: Mechs are doing the dodging.
Technician
The technician is a mech that heals another mech that is being fought by yet another mech which is potentially being healed by a tech which is yet another mech. The helix repair torch is doing the healing -- but it's the mech that the helix repair torch is attached to. I don't believe I need to elaborate.

As you can see, we have enormous piles of evidence that mechs do indeed need to be removed. Thank you for you time in reading this amazing suggestion.
Some people may think "oh bloody hell so what will we use to fight if not mechs!?". I suggest we use axes as a replacement.
