What happened last week

 

1. Technical Artist interviews

2. Gameplay programmer interviews

3. Private servers should now automatically recover from hard locks in most all circumstances

4. Added another gameserver host in Singapore

5. We got game servers working in the new Staging environment

  - Now we can really hammer away at configurations

 

 

Upcoming over the next week

 

1. We need to decide on whether or not to keep server hosts in Australia

  - We could shift the hosting fees toward other hosts in the Asia region

  - We may find a data center that has better peering with a wider range of locations

  - Let us know via a support ticket what you think

2. Working with concept artists

3. More interviews

4. More build and deployment work

1. We need to decide on whether or not to keep server hosts in Australia

  - We could shift the hosting fees toward other hosts in the Asia region

  - We may find a data center that has better peering with a wider range of locations

 

 

Please do not take out the AU servers. Just please. Take down some of the servers to save money, do whatever, but please, do not take out all the servers! ;(

Yeah, take out every server except for one TDM and one DM. I mean we will miss siege and MA but those are the less played game modes.

Yeah, take out every server except for one TDM and one DM. I mean we will miss siege and MA but those are the less played game modes.

One TDM, DM, Co-op and Bots TDM each and all the Pioneer servers should be preserved. The rest I won't mind not seeing anymore.

Keep 2 to 5 servers of all gamemode types in Sydney, including the fight club. Killing a region off completely is always a stupid and ?hitty thing to do.

Please keep the Aus servers. It is painful to play anywhere else.
Even just one TDM and one DM, plus private servers can swap to MA or Siege, etc on demand.
(I am still waiting to hear more about private servers.)

Would it be cheaper to get hosting in Brisbane?
Can you combine us with Asia region again? I can handle the issues with matchmaking over losing our local servers. Moreso now that the private servers ignore MMR.

I think if we appeared as a few servers in Asia region then waiting in Syd/Bris lobby would attract some Singapore players, etc in addition to Aus players which would justify keeping them alive. Combined region is more palatable than deleting our region.

Please keep some server hosts in Australia! We have a strong core, and with the recent unreliable ping rates to the Asian servers, it makes the game unplayable.
Maybe marketing would do the trick to inform people about Hawken? The user base can only do so much!
Thanks for the continuing developer effort! The game is worth it!

Were you here when Asia-Oceania was one region? They split us off so we could get better matchmaking.

Would you be ok with being in the Asia-Oceanic combined region and having to manually select AU servers to get best ping?

We would see and play on their servers, but equally they would see and play on ours which would resolve many issues, at the cost of losing our ability to get matchmaker to dump us in an AU server regardless of MMR.

So long as AU has a private server for our MMR unlocked matches then i'm ok with recombining the regions.

+1 on the removal of Australian servers. I know it sucks for the 2 or 3 players left down under, but they always can play on another continent or move to other games (I heard Burstfire is nice). If this is what it takes to let Hawken flourish again, I'm all for it. I have seen enough from Reloaded so far to trust them that they know exactly what is to do and what the community wants.
