I am currently seeing about getting a few Axe-Attack teams put together for this event. You can put me down for at least one.

 

I will be playing with 2 friends from school under the team name Full Sail Axe-Attack. Still need to get their accounts made for Hawken. That's right...I'll be playing with two complete Hawken noobs. I have 2 weeks to turn them from noobs who don't know how to dodge into killing machines. Wait until you see our comp. It is going to be glorious. 

 

I will also be streaming. 

 

As for a possible second or third team, I am still figuring out who is available and interested from Axe-Attack. 

 

Also, a raffle prize for the tournament has arrived! One lucky team will be winning this (1 for each player). Still working on the prize pool. More news on that when I have some to share.

Still. I'm making an aliance with Robscancer and Nighthawk00.
Though we haven't really practiced and stettled this up to be officially in.
we're still in the get together process. We need to discuss much. We're not ready yet.
I'll have to test my computer with the xacius potato recording jutsu.
And motivate thoses two to install programs and set up programs settings so that we will be able to communicate and record and all that without having some technical difficulties...

And more importantly (not really) ((but one thing I like)) Finding a team name and drawing a team emblem

I've added a new rule:

 

There are no "rostered" player substitutes. If a substitute is needed, the sub must be accepted by the opposing team. There will be less leniency towards substitutes the further the cup has progressed. I must also be notified of all substitutions before the match begins.

 

So if your opposing team is okay with it, then sure. Otherwise, they're only obligated to play the players you've rostered.

It's a one-day event that requires only three dedicated players.  We'd allow (additional) rostered players were we running a 3v3 league, but in this case it's preferable (from our perspective) to enforce the 3-person limit.  Permitting larger rosters runs the risk of teams swapping constantly for advantage rather than fielding secondary or tertiary teams.  Not worth the hassle from an admin standpoint.

 

*Edit* Should also note that teams which require more than 1 sub will probably be forced to forfeit.  In previous tournaments, we've had teams running almost an entire team of ringers (as opposed to their original composition).

Given some of the difficulty seen as far as fielding teams in previous 3v3 cups I don't see extra rostered players as a problem. That said, requiring the opposing team's approval and limiting the roster is fine, I'm pretty sure most subs within reason will be approved.

Originally I was the opinion that the rosters should just be 3 deep and that needing more than one ringer should be an FF, but as I recalled previous Hawken TPG events I realized that that would likely result in exactly two matches being played 3 hours apart.

 

I vote for 4 on the roster, though IMO an auto-FF for more than 1 ringer is still a good idea.

 

A note on the prizes:

That's quite the mound of swag, but can you keep it up? It would be a shame to blow it all here only to have the next 3 tryweeklys be barren and lame.

As for some rules I'm a bit confused about:

As in take a screenshot of the mech I'll be playing with in garage or we need to  "spawn" and take screenshots of our mechs each player looking at the other and taking the screenshot?

Do we wait 10 minutes without spawning or we spawn from start and wait in are mechs and don't move?

As for your questions.

 

1. Another player should be in view in your screenshot. So just look at a teammate with the score screen open. The important part is the scoreboard with everyone on it.

 

2. The ten minute grace period is for giving teams time to wrangle up their members. Simple as that, if everyone is ready to go then the match is started up.

Last night, in WW, someone said I should join <group> for this sort of immediate, mech-rek'n TPG action.

 

I regret that I was so focused on blowing up mechs that I didn't really store the information in nonvolatile memory.

 

However, it probably doesn't make much difference.   I will not be available to play this weekend, doing some camping and hiking.  It's gonna be cold, wet, and awesome!  After that, find me and we'll talk about TPG S4 or whatever tryhard thing is available next.
