TPG is excited to announce its third cup, hosted by yours truly! It will be held on Saturday, February 6th , at (2pm EST).

 

TPG’s cups, unlike the regular season, take place over the course of a day. Anybody can join or create a team, and teams do not necessarily have to match up with teams from the regular season. We’re also aiming to have some Twitch streams running during the cup, so that even those who aren’t participating can watch.

 

While the cup is all-inclusive, you must make an account on the TPG website in order to participate. CraftyDus was kind enough to provide instructions here.

 

Cup Awards:

 

We have a prize pool!

 

1st Place - 4500 MC

2nd Place - 3000 MC

3rd Place - 1500 MC

 

The prizes will be split evenly among the team members.

 

We also have raffle prizes! The raffles will be team based and the prizes will be split among members.

3 Hawken T-Shirts

 

(You cannot win a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place prize in addition to a raffle prize. You can only win one or the other, not both.)

RULES

 

This cup’s game mode will be Team Deathmatch, with teams of three people each. Standard TPG restrictions apply for internals and items (that is, no repair kits, extractors, composite armor, or scanners), but class restrictions will be set at no more than two of any class (CBA, CCB is okay, CCC is not). You cannot have more than one unique mech (No double brawler, for example). Additionally, radar will be disabled. If you have questions about the rules, you may send me a message at any time. Not knowing the rules will not gain you any leniency if you break them. Breaking them results in your team's possible disqualification.

 

Each match will be a best of three maps format, where each team gets a chance to choose a map. Should there be a need for a third map, teams will play on a tiebreaker map provided beforehand. Map length will be 8 minutes, and the maximum kills will be set at 30 40. Uptown and Last Eco Winter are banned.

 

There are no "rostered" player substitutes. If a substitute is needed, the sub must be accepted by the opposing team. There will be less leniency towards substitutes the further the cup has progressed. I must also be notified of all substitutions before the match begins.

 

The cup will be double elimination (similar to Season 3 finals).

 

All matches are required to be recorded by every participant. If you are asked to provide a recording and cannot, your team can be disqualified.

 

TPG Admins will deal with infractions on a case by case basis.

Team leaders should post here confirming their team name and members. Players cannot join more than one team, and players from teams that have been eliminated are not allowed to substitute in for non-eliminated teams. If you have an existing team you would like reactivated from a previous 3vs3 cup, PM Nept, CraftyDus, or me. You are still required to post here.

 

Players planning on streaming the event should also post here with their twitch URL.

As a follow-up to my earlier post asking for people's opinions on Mutators:

 

I've decided to leave the format of the cup fairly vanilla for now, in the interest of just getting the cups started back up. If there is enough interest, I am willing to listen to participants at the end of the event for future mutators.

 

Cups are planned to be monthly now, barring lack of participants. This may change depending on when the regular TPG season starts.

Try nepa's config? The recordings also don't have to be high quality, you can set it to potato fps (I forget the minimum requirement for TPG but it's low)

So far three out of the four teams are walking away with a prize, unless more teams join.

 

Automatic Mustangs will be fielding a team as well.

I am currently seeing about getting a few Axe-Attack teams put together for this event. You can put me down for at least one.

 

I will be playing with 2 friends from school under the team name Full Sail Axe-Attack. Still need to get their accounts made for Hawken. That's right...I'll be playing with two complete Hawken noobs. I have 2 weeks to turn them from noobs who don't know how to dodge into killing machines. Wait until you see our comp. It is going to be glorious. 

 

I will also be streaming. 

 

As for a possible second or third team, I am still figuring out who is available and interested from Axe-Attack. 

 

Also, a raffle prize for the tournament has arrived! One lucky team will be winning this (1 for each player). Still working on the prize pool. More news on that when I have some to share.
