Whether it was one person on alts or a bunch isn't the point. My last Hawken login according to steam is 1/23/2016. I stopped playing because every game I would join a hacker would pop up and gloat while using speed hacks/aim bot. I very rarely had the luxury of selecting a room due to my mmr. So I would often be put into the hackers room.

 

Maybe you got lucky and didn't encounter any, but I sure did. I hope the hackers got banned, but if it was one person on alts I'm sure they have no problem making more alts. The game needs to be patched.

Oh and as for speed hacks, those get caught by the AC. Anyone doing that gets booted from the server

I reported a suspected hacker.
Reaper with a 27 killstreak and could find my cloaked pred around corners and walls.
If I didn't have a ping disadvantage I think I could have had him with my brawler.
They haven't been online since.
System works? coincidence?

Just keep reporting with screenshots or vids and let Tiggs, etc do their thing.

Are you people seriously this thick? You are actually celebrating this "update" report... if I wrote up a progress report like this in my line of work I would probably get a written warning for wasting time on a load of nothing...

At this point most of us are just like crack addicts. Our fix has gone stale a long time ago and we're worshiping the pimp (he even has one of those fancy hats!) that subtly give us hints of a new fix. We just do our bidding and keep say it could be worse and we're actually quite happy here.

Unless Reloaded is getting ready to pull an ADH/meteor move, why in the world would the current developers even be under an NDA?  There some sort of proprietary trade secret to flipping failed games that must be kept from the community?

Seriously, if they're trying to keep interest in Hawken while flipping this game, clamming up about EVERYTHING hawken is piss-poor.  And name calling?  Really?

 

Some partnership if that hamstrings the entire development team from even having a conversation with the community... you'd think an NDA for a partnership would be targeted towards keeping them from talking about the partnership, not EVERYTHING..

Actually its the community trying to shut you up, before your rampant impatience smothers a great game's chances of returning even greater.

IMO, I just think they've given up telling people that they're working on boring stuff mostly, and they can't give us the exciting stuff yet.
If they tell us about exciting stuff, the impatient horde call for delivery dates, and then whine if it isn't soon enough or if it is not met.

Solution? Keep quiet and do the dev work.
The faithful will remain.

Probably something that is, at least for them, relatively big in scope. Something that leaving bread crumbs for would probably hurt the project in the long run. But it's mere speculation.

It's been a long time we didn't have real news, just "devs signs of life".

 

I understand they don't want to spoil, that the team is small so that they can't do multiple things at the same time, and that they had to train a whole new team. but... was some small balance things that hard to make in more than one year ? list of quickfix have been discussed quite a few times and should have already been implemented. I think that people who are still here are devoted to the game and many of us would have volunteer to help.

 

They didn't even pinned / created a summary of quickfix list (EOC repeater, incinerator, T32 spread, orblording, scancer, SUSTAIN), which means that either they don't care, or they have very limited sense of community managing, or both.

 

At least we still have servers to play, and in-game tiles when pple organise tourneys (and prizes IIRC).

I would hope so, but asinine NDAs that cover all communications rather than the specific topic they're intended to cover seem to be a hallmark of Hawken, even if only speculation rather than reality.  The "we're not dead" post is better than nothing, but it's also the absolute minimum we could've gotten from these new devs, which I'm hoping that's not indicative of the amount of effort that's being put into Hawken now.

 

But this IS Hawken; were the game isn't dead until it's servers down dead and everyone needs to shut up and play the game so at least a dozen servers will have 1 or more people on them or leave making the community just that much smaller.

My point is, I really enjoy this game, even in its current state. I also think there is a bit too much malcontent around here sometimes.
I wanted those reading this to know that some of us are quite content to wait.

Just feel compelled to chime in as someone who has been a big fan of Hawken for a few years, pre-Steam, played hundreds of hours and spent probably $100 on random cosmetic ish.

 

I loved this game and community for a while, but the lack of improvements or new content has apparently worn quite a lot of us out. I say this not to fuel the fire, but to indicate that a lot of people still do care about Hawken, and wish we could keep our sparks of enthusiasm alive.

 

This update doesn't do that for me! I haven't played in several months, but still hope to rekindle my interest ... but that doesn't seem very likely.

 

And have y'all seen the Hawken leaderboard? Sort it by time played and you have to go down 800+ rows out of 1,000 to find a named player w/ any play time. 

 

Oy vey! I am not a developer. Maybe there's a chance that the new dev team can launch Hawken to a virgin world and just act like it wasn't a failed experiment for so many years. But why wouldn't you put a little more time into keeping your loyal community engaged?

It's not easy to see a reason for this behaviour either.
Currently people are losing their hope until the next update.

I would just be happy with Reloaded releasing an update so that people might actually return and so this game could thrive.  But, to each their own.

Likely, for the doom and gloom crowd, only the concurrent player count skyrocketing will change their tune. A patch being good or bad (beyond bug fixes/additions, performance gains or losses, etc.) is subjective anyway.
