Yes, fuzzy bunny has returned for some words, and now is your chance to help us make this forum yours. We do need to add words to the filter, we are rated 13+ after all. We'd love to have your input on the filter for the forums. List below the word(s) you're suggesting for the forum filter and the word it should be filtered to. 

 

Example:

 

fuzzy bunny = fuzzy bunny

Gay = happy

fuzzy bunny = great guy

Sometimes it overdid it and censored things it should not have. Also, they do not have access to the old rules, so they have to make it themselves. I think they better build it from scratch instead of just import a huge dictionary that causes false positives.

Agreed.  I had some words filtered that seemed absolutely meaningless, including some occasional odd glitches like "crass" becoming "crfuzzy bunny".  That cracked me up.  =)

I put in my vote for racist words for sure, and I don't mind filtering major curse words.  Most of us are probably adults, but even adults act like fuzzy bunnies when online for some reason.  I think for both the forums and in-game, filtering on a reasonable list and then providing a "turn off fuzzy bunny filter" option would be perfect.  I would probably turn it off initially, and then turn it on when someone is just being a fuzzy troll.

 

Actually, to that point, maybe it's easier to just give me a "fuzzy bunny this player" option that filters almost all of their words.  =)

Not sure whether "fuzzy bunny" is currently censored, but I'd suggest leaving it be.  At the risk of sounding too social justice warrior, I don't think that words describing someone's sexuality should be banned from use.  I don't think that they should be used as insults either, of course, but that could be handled on a case-by-case basis if people were being derogatory.

I say we go back to fuzzy bunny for racial slurs, homophobic words, and cuss words.  However; if you type "fuzzy bunny", it should change that to "I am a spam bot and should be banned".

For the most part, our community fully avoids insults, and when we must throw them, they're often based around the argument, we don't bring people's sexuality into this.

 

A more common post than "you're ga y" in the old days would actually have been "I'm ga y", which shouldn't be censored.
