Hey, I got this mech just to get to the Grenadier but when I try and use it I last about 2 sec....  I'm a Vanguard user and like to mix it up but apparently that won't work.  Should I stay back behind teammates or what?  Can't really figure this guy out.  Any advice is appreciated

I am by no means an expert with this mech, but I like running it from time to time.  My K/D is over 1 with it so I am not terrible with it either. The way I play it is as a hit and run mech.  Use your ability or speed to get up close to enemies unseen and alpha strike them with both guns then immediately go evasive, dodging, jumping and sliding.  You can stay in combat with it as long as your not taking hits and you have to keep moving so I always keep an eye on my fuel.  If it looks evn a little like I may soon be outnumbered or forced into a face to face fight I bolt.

The trick to success with the infiltrator is to be the master of line-of-sight.

Bait enemies around corners, to meet them with a face full of eoc and nade.

Toss mines as you are being chased and double back to alpha them as they roll through the trap.

Toss nades as you dodge behind cover.

Use hallways as death traps bouncing nades around corners.

In direct engagements save nades for surefire hits while using the mines as zone control aiming at legs (so even misses make well placed traps) and forcing them to waste dodges and setup nade hits.

Drop hologram before ability if being chased (right after you LOS them for best effect).

I only say that with Infiltrator i get 4 consecutive kills. Incredible but true. The trick is to find backs, with backs u do double damage and since the weapons of Infiltrator does decent damage, with the backs u do massive damage. Also a tip, forgot to fight heavyes on frontal attacks, its a waste of time and too risky.

Unless u are a very skilled player,u are always at disadvantage versus heavyes, specially the ones with defensive mode. Only u need to destroy heavyes when are hurt or distracted by friendly players, then if u find the heavy in 2 vs 1 with a friendly player, then is served with desk of plate, find his back and goodbye heavy, also if the heavy notice u and turn back to u,then the friendly player must destroy him before u die.

As players said above,u must use ur skills and evasions. And remember, the mortal enemy of every mech is always ASSAULTS,really those mechs must be erased from game, they ruining mine hahahaha :P No seriously,Assaults are fine, but they do massive damage on very short time, with my Vanguard i usually avoid those mechs if they are grouped on 2 squads. But with the Infiltrator are in equal match, remember to hit right and the Assault is history, the problem is that usually they move or fly while shooting at u,since u are not tiny as Berserker (another heavy mech killer i swear) u must use evasion, but still u are at disadvantage versus the Assault.

Ur left weapon is the killer while the grenade launcher on ur right side weapon is the finisher, only u need to know about how to detonate the grenade in midair, and thats not difficult. But in general,u must avoid direct combat and use invisibility to approach the enemyes backs, and if they dont notice u,u must do ur art.

Infiltrator is one of my favorite mechs, but is little difficult due his low armor, only find backs and all will be fine. Think about this mech as a rogue.

You make a good point about getting behind enemies, totally freaks them out when you land your alpha and they just lost half armor.

But, only the heavies in turret mode get the bonus damage from behind.

A good trick when a turreted heavy is facing you is to arc your grenade so it lands behind them and detonate manually for extra damage, or if they are close to a wall, bounce off the wall to hit thier back.

Yes,Infiltrator its God from behind,i usually killed Berserkers in one alpha attack from behind.
