You heard high mmr players are locked out of most servers. If you're 1700 or 2300, and lower it to 1300 can you play then?

Compared to the level30, here's a level12 around the same time, mmr also near 1300. Notice that 7/12 TDM & all coop are open:

Fact: server hard locks by level. We all know it's silly. With a 90 concurrent player size, why separate these 2 players who are both 1300 mmr? None of the buttons below allow getting around the hard level lock.

 

More tests on my level30 example...

Any Match: prioritized pvp, then pve, usually chooses empty Coop TDM 1/6, but stays on same region.

TDM: stays on TDM, usually chooses empty Luxembourg Highway TDM 1/6. It's good the matcher will region-expand from NA to elsewhere (solves the region fragmentation issue, which dev seem unaware of). But I want to join that 7/12 TDM with real people, but I can't.

Quick Match: random, usually chooses Bot Destruction with xp bonus.

 

I joined a server with 600-2300 mmr range, and was fun for 4 games. I'm guessing mmr lock does auto expand somehow. The game only balanced because of the full server, otherwise the more usual 3v2 or 5v4 games are terribly unbalanced, and players leave faster. Often a waiting 1-3 player server dies in 5-10minutes (I sometimes wait patiently...), since most folks don't have that patience, there's a critical mass to keeping a server alive.

I think fewer, & larger servers with no lock can help many issues: 16~24 player. High mmr vet is allowed to join, he can't pwn & unbalance the match too bad since there's more players to offset that difference. Uneven player count will matter less with more players. Mmr balancer can work better with more players to shuffle around & F8. Critical mass can keep longer since it's playable from 4v5 up to 12v12.

 

So the main problem is fragmentation. Most other mmo's with small playerbase I've seen, use just one region-free browser with 24p servers. Players choose their closest location/ping or most populated server & start immediately, no wait. Some have rookie locked servers, but just a few servers & they pass rookie level quite fast (well before they uninstall the game due no servers to play).

Take 90 players, divide by region, divide by level, then mmr, then gamemode, and we get a dead game. TLDR unlocked Mayhem server can save the game.

Just make all PvP servers unlocked, new players should be placed into PvE (Bots TDM) if they aren't ready to face real players.

coop-tdm mode should be in training section, and should be starting with "play" button or "play any mode". i see some new players who think they playing with people, lol. 

technically, if you are 1300 mmr players, bots mode don't teach you nothing, bacoz 1300 bots are insanely stupid and shooting under their legs, instead shooting in enemy. it is like beating a 10 year kid, if you training to be a professional boxer.
