Devs, it's really sad for me to see the game go. Please consider writing a small server program to create LAN servers to continue playing the game, and maybe unlock all G1 mechs and weapons so that you don't need the authentication server?

If someone distributed the original installer (from before Steam), someone could probably set it up to run on a tunnelling application (these use fancy stuff to let LAN enabled games play like online). But, I don't really know if Hawken can be jiggered to run on LAN...
