Here is our collection of known issues with the current Open Beta build of HAWKEN. Read the latest patch notes for details on what's new.
NEW - HAWKEN: Ascension Known Issues
- If you already have an existing Hawken account, your account has been migrated, so we recommend you complete a match before examining the migration results. Strange issues have been observed such as:
- Pilot Level not updating until player has finishes a match.
- Player inventory not updating until player finishes a match or restarts game.
- In-game auto-balance is currently non-functional.
- Players are sometimes placed into empty servers when using Quick Match.
- Pilot Level not updating until player has finishes a match.
- Players are sometimes able to accept party invites when a party is deploying into a match, this can cause various issues with matchmaking functionality and chat UI colors.
- Pressing ALT+TAB or switching between fullscreen causes UI issues such as incorrect colors and missing UI.
- UI sometimes hitches when adding a friend, making purchases, unlocking Service Awards, etc.
- There is currently no notification that certain actions are blocked while in a party, such as deploying into a match, VR Training, and Offline Team Deathmatch.
- Various audio and voice issues have been cropping up more frequently such as:
- Voice chat continuing between players even after leaving a server.
- Players that have left a party can still voice chat with remaining party members.
- A player that accepts a party invite while in a match cannot use voice chat until they enter a game lobby.
- Voice chat continuing between players even after leaving a server.
- Crash when changing settings during VR Tutorial. This may be related to specific computers.
- The UI is still undergoing polish on functionality and art, so please be patient while we continue this process.
- Please be aware that there is no confirmation dialog when purchasing HC or XP Boosts, so clicking on the button will purchase immediately.
- We are still working on adding and cleaning up notifications to help provide to you more meaningful information.
- When the Infiltrator cloaks, the grenade projectile in the Grenade Launcher is still visible.
- Some players are having issues with Jump Pad sensitivity.
- The Blockade item will sometimes trap players inside of it when deployed.
- Players must apply changes made to the standard video settings before making changes to the Advanced video settings, or the standard settings will not be saved.
- Players have encountered sets of duplicate weapons that can be purchased an infinite number of times.
- A collision issue on the Front Line map allows mechs to walk into a wall and hide inside.
- The game crashes if the player cancels the initial "Logging In" message before entering credentials, then clicks the friends/messaging tab.
- Due to the reset of certain player stats, some players may be required to play 5 Team Deathmatch matches before being able to join additional game modes.
- The post-match background screen reverts to the map environment if the winning player leaves the match.
- When attempting to leave a game after the match has ended, players receive an incorrect message stating that their progression will be lost.
- Pressing ESC to cancel a key binding closes the settings menu completely.
- The red borders around the numbers of friends online and unread messages disappear when switching from full screen to windowed mode.
- Players can damage their own battleship if it has already taken damage from the enemy.
- Dropping a Radar Scrambler on top of missile silos on the Facility map causes the item to disappear and will not function.
- Falling directly onto a Jump Pad does not inflict fall damage.
- The HUD disappears if the player presses ESC while repairing.
- Players are getting dropped back to the garage during the map transition.
- Attempting to join a match in progress via game invite or friends list will incorrectly inform the player the server is full.
- In Siege mode, players can avoid being targeted by base turrets by hiding in certain areas of the enemy base.
- Boosting upwards into a grounded enemy mech instantly kills them and counts as a crushing kill.
- Players currently cannot test drive the same mech twice.
- Vehicles are invisible on low graphics settings.
- Getting hit in the front with an EOC volley results in a rear hit marker.
- Players are receiving a temporary green screen when they join a match.
- The Explosive Munitions internal is not increasing the damage of explosive primary weapons.
- Mech names containing special characters are not saved properly.
- Heavy mechs are getting stuck in small tunnel leading to the Anti-Air Turret on Bazaar.
- Holograms placed by heavy mechs are always shown in turret mode.
- Various visual bugs appear when mixing body parts on medium mechs.
- Statistics in the Optimization menu are not shown consistently across multiple languages.
- Mechs other than the CR-T recruit can be loaded into the tutorial.
- Zooming in with the Sabot Rifle while hovering causes camera issues.
- The control ring in Missile Assault is not visible at the middle silo on the Bazaar map.
- Deployed Shield items are not visible at long distances.
- The user interface is not scaling properly for large resolutions.
- Players are able to get outside the map boundary on the Origin map.
- The displayed duration for Hawken Credits/XP boosts is appearing incorrectly for some players.
- Certain purchased trial mechs appear in the garage with missing parts.
- Making changes to the field of view while zoomed in with the Sabot Rifle causes the setting to be saved, but no change to the field of view is made.
- Certain environmental pieces on the ground of the Uptown map can block mech movement.
- Grenades fired from the Grenade Launcher can clip through the ground.
- Mechs can clip through roof of tunnel on the Origin map.
- Mechs can clip through poles on the Prosk map.
- Heavy mechs are getting caught on short wall leading to the Anti-Air turret on the Origin map.
- Players can be killed in the tutorial, blocking continued progress.
- Offensive items cannot be detonated using the Offensive Item key. Players must press the Use Item key to detonate items.
- Hawken Credit/XP boosts purchased in a match do not apply at the end of the match unless the player dies and respawns.
- The special ability icon in your mech may show the countdown timer instead. If you encounter this issue, please contact our Support team.
- Players can set focus points outside the map.
- The number keys in the Keybindings menu are spelled out, instead of showing a numerical value.
- Players that join a match and encounter no "Ready-up" screen have voice chat disabled until they spawn into the match.
- Various text throughout the Main Menu and Garage appears un-localized.
- In the "Your Mechs" list, the expiration date for test-drive mechs is listed as one day earlier than it is in the Mech Shop.
- Forcing the "Keep Video Settings_" window to close by hitting the ESC key or dying in game will apply the changes selected, but not display the changes in the Video Settings menu.
- Pressing the ESC button during the walkthrough closes all background menus, blocking the player from completing it.
- A player in the staging area of a match cannot voice chat with teammates currently spawned in the match.
- Mechs collide with invisible objects on the Bazaar map.
- Hawken Credit and XP Boosts are not stacking additively, overwriting current boost durations instead. If you're affected by this bug, please contact our Support Team.
- Connecting some third-party controllers causes the mech to spin counter-clockwise until disconnected.
- Players who have left a match before it ends will still appear in the postgame Honors screen.
- A sign on the Prosk map can be clipped through.
- When a player opens an internal slot menu with no selected item after opening another item menu, items from the previous menu can be equipped in internal slots.
- Optimize menu stat values are cosmetically incorrect for some non-English languages.
- The Heat Cannon does not produce an explosion if a charged shot is fired too close to an object or surface.
- The Anti-Air Turret sometimes doesn't show its firing animation.
- Some Closed Beta statistics have carried over to player profiles in-game.
- The Settings menu does not update selections appropriately after booting the game in specific resolutions and changing to a different resolution.
- The Training Drone in the tutorial can be added as a friend via the scoreboard.
- The Favorite Item statistic may show the incorrect item.
- Players are not taught how to perform a 180 turn in the tutorial. It's SHIFT+Down or SHIFT+S.
- When pressing ESC during gameplay and attempting to use voice chat, players cannot hear each other.
- Accounts can get into a permanent state where the PayPal window does not open when attempting to buy Meteor Credits.
- If a player clicks Add Credits from the main menu just after following the link to verify their email address, they are erroneously shown as signed out.
- If a player using Internet Explorer cancels the PayPal box and attempts to reselect PayPal to pay, they are unable to enter zip code information, blocking them from completing the purchase.
- The top navigation bar does not display on top of the forums in Internet Explorer.
- Internet Explorer users are unable to create topics or reply to forum posts as the main body of the post is unselectable.
- The Friends List and Message icons may appear grayed out due to our server for those features acting up. Restarting the client is a temporary workaround.
- Your account may not immediately display XP and HC earned from your last match due to database slowness.
- Advanced Video Options (including the Film Grain toggle) are not available in this initial build. They will return in the near future.
