None of the above. I wanted to see if there was a good mech combat game out last year and so I googled armored core and their youtube video came up. I signed up for alpha and the rest is history.

I have my GTX 550 Ti, so I was updating drivers on the Nvidia website, and while I was updating, I perused the website, and lo and behold, and advertisement for Hawken.  Clicked it, and after a minute, I knew I was hooked.  Made an account, downloaded, and here I am.

Actually, I was a bigtime Skitscape fan. He liked a Hawken video, and I watched it.

The rest is history, and here I am. :)

i think it was a closed beta invite from the alienware newsletter_  that sounds right to me, but i'm not sure what category that would fall under.  i'm going to vote 'advertisement' for now.

How I heard about it is not on the list. I heard about it from a tv network called g4 that no longer exists. When I heard about it, it had to be almost a year, almost year and a half before alpha stage. Back when MWO was just a rumor. Back before there was this forum

I really don't know. I saw the trailer somewhere and ended up checking out their website way back when it was just a single page with their logo on it and an announcement date.
I do know that I waited something like 6 months for their first gameplay trailer. Everything before that was just environment trailers with no mechs.

You could have found it in a similar fashion as me.

I haven't had TV since 2007, so I doubt that. I never really watched G4 anyways.

I chose "other social networks" because I was playing Defiance at this moment when someone posted something in the Defiance forums . I take a look on his profile and read about the games he was playing. Was curious about this thing "Hawken" and tried it.

Please excuse grammatical errors, English is not my first language.  Thanks!

From magazine. It was in development, not even alpha version. This year I just remembered and typed "hawken" in google.

Pretty sure I found it either from youtube (Totalbiscuit,MMOBOMBER) or PC Gamer magazine.

When I've launched onto the battlefield, torn my enemies to shreds.  I stride through the field and listen, I see a ping.  I quietly take my time moving into position, it pings.  I see him...but he doesn't see me.  That feeling of making someone feel defenseless in that moment.  It is glorious!
