I'd LOVE to support the Devs for this game- if they'd just make the bloody hell 180 spin key possible to bind to something other than 'shift+s'.
It's like they never played any mech game or FPS that came before this when they made that enormous oversight.

Get used to it... simple.. games have different controls if you play it enough you will get used to it.  also, its a BETA and things like that can change when the final game is out...

No, UK_SPAWN, I won't.
I'm doing my best to hang in there, but this enormous handicap isn't fair to my team, and there don't ever seem to be enough deathmatches. Co-op bot practice gets old pretty quick.

As I stated in a more appropriate place, I've been playing mech games a long, long time. When your goal is supposedly to get a bigger player base for support, it makes sense to UTILIZE THE EXISTING MARKET. All of this "we're so cool, we gotta fuzzy bunny up the STANDARD of control" garbage works fine for youngsters, but believe me, us old farts (who are the ones that spend money to support Good development) are going to walk away from this game- those of us with better sense then I a lot sooner.

Wake Up! Hawken has competition- a Lot of it. The unique style and the feel (for the most part) are currently far superior to MWO (which is also in beta) at the moment. UK_SPAWN, this game has the potential to compete with Armored Core- not by being more like it, by being more itself in ways that are ***beneficial*** to the player, not in ridiculous, pretentious, counter-intuitive BS non-assignable controls- that were an Enormous Oversight to begin with.

This ridiculous issue just so Hawken "can be different" is really codespeak for lazy, ineffective developing. Fix what is broken with the game first and yes, this is broken! Hawken IS different already for so many Good reasons. ALL controls ought to be assignable, anyway; they are in EVERY OTHER GAME WORTH PLAYING, and that's how one can use their joysticks/ other controllers with them.

I Know I'm not going to get used to it- so why play when I'm only getting ranked even higher and I'm a drain on almost every team I get on_

Hmmm... maybe I can reassign the keys using glove-pie...

...and guess what_ As clunky as MWO is at the moment, I can reassign ALL of the keys, and even use my Thrustmaster joystick with it! Go figure! Putting style above functionality is a very short-term strategy. After a while, people who spend money to support the dev are going to feel juked. I only play, and pay to play, one game at a time.

I actually just started a few days ago and I wasn't planning on buying, but after looking at store, I couldn't resist. I'm glad that there are no items that make it pay to win, at least not from what I saw. I'm always willing to spend money on a game that I find entertaining and doesn't cater to the pay to win models of supposed free to play games. So far I'm really enjoying hawken. I hope they come out with more coop stuff soon and more shiny things for me to add on my mech
