A note to first time attendees:

 

War Wednesdays is an unoficial Hawken event, and requires the usage of TeamSpeak 3. Our server information can be found below. Please be aware that we work to make the night fun for everyone, and compiling organized games can take some time. We appreciate your patience.

Once upon a time, there existed a land in which baby Fred chassis could roam free across the land. There was no need for TOW Missiles, assault rifles, not even repair drones.
That land sucked.

And so we created War Wednesdays.

War Wednesdays was borne amongst the fury and rage of the old Hawkenites against the absurd difficulty of finding a good game in those days. One Wednesday night, three pilots set out to spam the invite button to anyone they knew would provide some competition, and lo and behold, a full server with an average MMR of 2200 was bestowed upon our trusty pilots. The ease of this task inspired them to do the same thing every week, and thus their old clan was petitioned to host such an event.

Obviously they said yes, and so we took to the forums to create a post worthy of mantling this cause. The following Wednesday we filled four freaking servers with players, and gave each team their own channel in teamspeak, and bullets were spraying like pew pew pew and splosions and it was awesome.

And so it's coming back.

It's open to everyone, because everyone deserves the chance to play with the full support of a team, like Hawken was meant to be played.


So how do I partake in this glorious jubilee?
I'm glad you asked. First, download the TeamSpeak 3 client, available here: http://www.teamspeak...?page=downloads

Second, pleeeeease assign yourself a push to talk key under the TeamSpeak settings.

Third, put us in your bookmarks, because A) the channel is open to anyone who wants to play Hawken, 24/7, and B) you're going to come back. Again. And again. And again. This is us: ts5.gameservers.com:9152

 

Fourth, show up.

Rules:
1. Be respectful. I love all my attendees, and I will fight you if you're mean to them.
2. Default rules are borderline TPG rules. Please limit scanner use to never, and only one mech of each type per team. Also in light of the new TPG season, please limit your usage of extractors and repair kits. They're not strictly enforced, but this is a community event, and the community will yell at you. Just have fun.
That's it. Just find us on TeamSpeak and be on. As more features are added to the game, this post will be continually updated.

Trivia fact: Hawken is awesome.

And a special thanks to all those that consistently help with this event, either through consistent attendance or simply stepping up and taking over when hosts are unavailable. There is a list of people that I will not list for fear of forgetting someone that simply make this event work. This event would not be possible if it weren't for all of you.

 

 

 

Update: War Wednesdays is currently hosted by THC: namely eth0 and _incitatus. The event occurs at 9:30PM every Wednesday.

Way back when, Houruck organised a fightclub outside of Wreckage. It was called the Mudpool if I'm not mistaken.

 

Really very fun, but ofc you'll have to bear with non-solid walls and such, seeing as you're out of bound. He used a great spot, but the floor was very sticky and people kept getting stuck, so we had to move to a different location.

How about the sea of Bunker? :) 

 

Biggest problem however is that in most maps getting out of bounds is limited to A- or B-classes, which is why Wreckage is very good. You can get out in pretty much everything.

The bigger problem is every time you spawn, you have to get back out of the map. Wreckage is the easiest to get out of and so if this were a thing, we'd likely do it on wreckage. However this is largely a matter of how many people want to do this. If there's 3 people, that means that there's going to be a lot of waiting for the fight to occur. If there's more, the wait time is minimized, but even still people will miss out on spectating some good fights. Of course, if there's enough interest, I have zero problem with this occurring. 

 

(Another problem is that private servers aren't set up yet, so we have no way to consistently get one map.)

You maybe thinking well it was probably for a good reason.
That I suppose that depends on your perspective.
All that happened was I interupted a duel in the last 5 seconds of the match. Which apparently is taken EXTREMELY seriously.
Sure it's a little bm but... really?

I wasn't really interested in posting to try to be unbanned, but talking Hawken players aren't exaclty common commodity. And for me having access is quite a pleasantry.
So If I could be unbanned that would be great.

Well tonight's War Wednesday was a blast. We won all our matches. It was fun killing you all! LOL. In the first match it was 3v3 and my best kill streak was 3. Hmm there was only 3 people on the other team, grin. Hey the old man might not be the best but everybody went home with lumps on their head. :D Think of it this way. Your grandpa just whooped ya!  :P

Amid's just being formal. I heard Merl's side of the story and he thinks he over reacted. We just want your side as well because we're still in the process of building our protocols and having an actual issue to review would help us.
