TPG Hawken�s Try Hard Wizard Tournament (North America)

 

 

TPG is excited to announce its second cup of the season, hosted by LoC_TR and myself! It will be held on Saturday, July 18th, at 5:00pm EST.

 

TPG�s cups, unlike the regular season, take place over the course of a day. Anybody can join or create a team, and teams do not necessarily have to match up with teams from the regular season. We�re also aiming to have some Twitch streams running during the cup, so that even those who aren�t participating can watch.

 

UPDATE: The developers have been kind enough to provide MC rewards for the winners of the cup.

2nd Place winner gets 2500 MC (per person)

3rd place winner gets 1250 MC (per person)

RULES

This cup�s game mode will be Team Deathmatch, with teams of three people each. Standard TPG restrictions apply for internals and items (that is, no repair kits, extractors, or scanners), but class restrictions will be set at no more than two of any class (CBA, CCB is okay, CCC is not). You cannot have more than one unique mech (No double brawler, for example). Additionally, radar will be disabled.

 

Each �match� will be a best of three maps format, where each team gets a chance to choose a map. Should there be a need for a third map, teams will play on a tiebreaker map provided beforehand. Map length will be 8 minutes, and the maximum kills will be set at 30. Uptown and Last Eco Winter are banned.

 

TPG Admins will deal with infractions on a case by case basis.

Team leaders should post here confirming their team name and members. Players cannot join more than one team, and players from teams that have been eliminated are not allowed to substitute in for non-eliminated teams.

 

THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP WILL BE THURSDAY, JULY 16TH. MAKE SURE TO REGISTER YOUR TEAM ON THE TPG WEBSITE (You may have to make an account).

1. The Characters

 

You won't believe it until you see it. Even then, you might not believe it. Tryhard wizard tounament brings out some of the most colorful, interesting, baffling personalities in the world. You have no idea these people are in your community until you join the tryhard wizard tournament. From unbelievably talented players to inexplicably strange humans, you get a cross-section of society you didn't realize existed.

 

2. Camaraderie

 

Typically, you'll find the word "camaraderie" thrown around in team sports, particularly hockey. People past their primes play the games so they can relive the locker-room banter and hilarity.

 

Tryhard wizard tournament is no different (except it all happens in the stinky pc battlestation rather than the stinky locker room). Tryhard wizard tournaments, especially with your friends (or strangers who will become your friends), are great ways to spend a few hours.

 

3. Fun

 

Tryhard wizard tournament is fun. Whether tryharding or not, it's fun to wizard. Joining the tryhard wizard tournament keeps you accountable to yourself - you're going to tryhard at least once that day.

 

4. Money

 

Small-time gambling is acceptable in most wizard tournaments. Often, half your hc goes toward your wizarding and the other half goes toward your tryhard fund. At the end of the tournament, you and your team will receive accolades based on where you finish. Individual prizes are usually allegorical, too. Other ways to win a pittance during tryhard wizard tournament involve hero worship and impressive paintjobs.

 

5. Fitness

 

You can get fit by tryhard wizard tournament? Common perception and stereotypes would suggest you can't. And if tryhard wizard tournament is the only bit of exercise you get, then don't expect a sculpted physique by the end of the tryhard wizard tournament. Still, repeatedly hurling a heavy mouse requires strength and endurance, and you can burn a significant number of calories tryhard wizard tournament.

 

6. Pizza

 

Counteract the exercise with pizza. tryhard wizard tournament will help you relive your childhood pizza parties by giving you the excuse for adult pizza parties. Actually, the pizza detracts from not only the fitness point, but also the money, as the pizza is usually funded by the wizardry. For those 2-3 hours that day, though, it tastes great. 7. Streaming

 

If tryhard wizard tournament isn't enough for you, many tryhard wizard tournament wizards have twitch channels playing whatever most of you want to watch (typically videogames). Depending on the time of your matches, you can watch entire tryhard wizard tournament games while tryhard wizard tournamenting.

 

8. TPG Membership

 

You'll be a part of the TPGLEAGUE, which costs less than $20 a year (and is often hidden in your league fees, so you don't even have to think about it if you don't want to). Membership qualifies you for community accolades (formerly fame, see LoC_TR) and gives you possible discounts with various merchants, including hotels and rental cars, but mostly not.

 

9. Relaxation

 

Except on the matches during which you're tryhard wizard tournamening so poorly you find yourself doing anything but relaxing, the tryhard wizard tournament can give you a nice respite from the work day or work week. Show up, relax, shoot a few robots, and have fun.

 

10. Status

 

"Yeah. I tryhard wizard tournament." You'll be amazed by how many people are impressed when they find out you tryhard wizard tournament.
