I think would not be so bad idea adding country flags to pilots in the (in)game's UI. These could be displayed in the score tab, even in the pilot label on the HUDS ingame. This might require an option in the settings to turn on/off the display of flags as well..

Besides the fact that some would fake their country this feature might be interesting enough to be considered up there in the HWK labs.

What do you think on this?

Why do you think this is needed? What purpose is there to "track" through displayed knowledge of one's own country of origin? It shouldn't matter, since we are all human that originate from the same point.

I dont think so, we're not represent our country.
and not all pilot have good behaviour, it will give bad perspective to the country itself.

I think it has to do with country patriotism.

Normally I'm all-for this, but I see no reason to set up borders between each other as I've been seeing lately. There's an "EU event" and a "US event", which truly leaves out a lot of people. Granted, we need a location to do the events in, but setting up barriers like this is not right - especially with such a small community.

The TPG should include all countries and not be split into any "US and EU", people should learn to adapt to a bit of lag instead of completely separating a perfectly amazing community.

Separating "US Hawken" from "EU Hawken" is likely not the way to go.

A profile flag / pilot label would suffice, yep.

I find a number of positive points at a having a country flag per pilot in the game. As, for example, reference to his/her language, aprox. ping, to check if there're many players in the match playing together (or against), long etc.

That would not be so bad idea, IMHO.

i'm probably one pilot from belarus. so, they need to do one another flag just because one man from belarus play in hawken?

maybe better add prosk/sentium flags?

what they should do:

1) fix balance (maybe general changes)
2) add new content, mech/maps

3) wait while old players return

4) create new camo/flags/thrusters/droids and other cosmetics
5) profit
6) repeat from # 2

Wow, wow, wow.. nepacaka! :P

Although you may have a point up there, this is not the right place in where to discuss about all that. So let's be back on topic, please. Ok? ;)

i just wait new update, but it is not happens (q_q)

this is not the right place in where to discuss about all that.

ok. in any case, i'm just say that will be better have illal/prosk/sentium flags. and probably more easy to implement than draw all 150+ flags.

also, i don't think that mech cabine have enough place for flag (maybe i'm imagine it in different way...it is actually important)

oh...i understand you incorrect first. i think you want added flag inside mech cabine. my mistake, sorry :D

personally, i think some sort of identifications it is not good idea. in my opinion, if you play in game - you are just pilot, don't matter who are you and where you from. only one thing which other guys should know about you, how good you play.

maybe it is possible added a flags like "icons", and if player want, they can choose his country flag for himself, and other player can see his flag-icon in score table. we already have this system, why not use it?

There's an "EU event" and a "US event", which truly leaves out a lot of people. Granted, we need a location to do the events in, but setting up barriers like this is not right - especially with such a small community.

The EU/US event names are there to display in which region they're located, as well as general timezones.
I still haven't read anything in WW/UVW rules nor heard anyone say that people from other regions can't participate, other than you.
I'm also pretty sure someone from across the ocean sometimes participates in UVW.

The TPG should include all countries and not be split into any "US and EU", people should learn to adapt to a bit of lag instead of completely separating a perfectly amazing community.

First off, you've been told by a TPG Admin on these forums that you're completely welcome to set up an Australian TPG team.
Secondly, you can't really tell other people what to do just like that.
Thirdly, as explained in the same thread that #1 is about, you can't completely adapt to high ping.

As for the suggestion in the OP, I don't really see the point; especially when there are much more urgent things to be done in terms of development.

spoken languages could be useful if there was in-game voice chat. BTW it's fun to discover that players you spent nice amount of hours playing with speak your native language.

I'm confident on that the in-game Vo/IP will be operative soon again.

Back on topic, a variety of new cammos or even plain colors to (aproximately*) customize the visuals of your mechs according to what your country is would be an interesting possibility as well.

I've done that already for many of my mechs in my garage. Probably I'm a lucky guy due to the current visual options available in the game and to the colors of my country's flag. And the truth is that those mechs do not look bad at all following these lines.. ;)
