Once we start patching the game and increasing the playerbase a bit, it might be cool to have a gamemode where THREE factions are competing for an objective (i.e., Prosk, Sentium and CRION).

 

Think about it!

In my experience with this type of gameplay it generally ends up as the winning team beating down the last team for points/fun and the second place team beating on the last team as well to make sure they remain at second place.

Get this: three teams, two normal teams and one team on a seige tank, like the one in the concept art, a giant tower with cannons and stuff, the team inside the seige tank's goal is to make it back to their base to claim it as their own, and the other teams are trying to do the same so they have to kill the team inside of the seige tank in order to take it as their own.

How about a situation similar to the Viking board game Hnefatafl?

1 team at the center inside a fort

2 teams  surrounding it.

The member ratio would be 2:3, with the center team being larger than the other two.

 

Goal of the first team: defend the fort (specifically its center/power source) until the time limit or destroy the other teams

Goal of the other teams: destroy the fort/other team

 

Each team has a spawning deck that prevents re-spawn for an undetermined amount of time if destroyed.

If there isn't a member of a team remaining, their team has lost.

There can only be 1 winner and 2 losers, so we avoid 2nd place targeting teams.

 

 

 

Pros:

It creates an interesting dynamic where the two outside teams have to figure out if they want to eliminate or cooperate with their neighbor to destroy the fort. If they eliminate their neighbor too early, they'll most likely lose the match anyhow. 

Defending a fort sounds awesome. Maybe there could be specialized turrets mechs can mount upon or maybe weapons/turrets you can trigger by transferring resources, etc.

 

Cons:

Not sure what a team that gets destroyed would do until the game ends (do they just spectate? leave?)

This requires a very large map, however; but considering any 3 team game would require more space, it doesn't seem too drastic.

There is always the chance players on the outside, who don't know how to play this mode or trolls, will attack their neighboring team early and screw up their chances of destroying the fort

Heavily reliant on balanced teams since it can become skewed very quickly.

Possibly others

 

The original Hnefatafl game is very different from this, especially with the goal of the center player being different (you can look it up); but with how quick the mechs in Hawken move, it didn't seem reliable for sustainable matches.

I think it would be awesome to have some new game modes like these, and even more awesome to have some new Crion Axes.

3v3v3 is a stupid idea.
I explain why. If you play in DM with 2 ppl once, you know how it working. One player retreat, and wait while two other start fight, than kill both. more often situation, when 2 players start attack the last, than start kill each other.
It will be absolutely stupid mode.

6v6v1 mode seems really more interesting. If one player have alor of HP and costant HP regeneration (because he can't repair himself against 6 enemies), also have a bonus Damage and bonus to overheat.
2 other team should hunt on this one player. But only team who kill this one player earn points, if one team start attack target, second team motivate to kill first team, at the same time alone player have a chance to runaway or kill both team (cuz he is strong, like yeti, and only 5-6 players can kill him)

What about a mode where each team spawns together all at once after one team dies. Promotes not dying and teamwork.

 

Maybe it can also have rotating class restrictions to further promote team balance and teamwork. ie: one tech, one sniper, one heavy and so on.

 

Maybe a capture point so the last A-class cant keep running away like a git.

Having Crion axes would kinda go against the lore... but UTA axes could be possible, and it could work better with the whole 2 teams attacking 1 team in a fort thing... hmm...

Maybe include a threshold the winning team reaches that forces an override on the friend or foe radar so they are facing two combined teams for max fuzz bunnery

On the topic of 6v6v1 and playing as crion, I have a idea the solo player is in a giga-structure infected mech that was made by crion that would make the solo player stand out and explain why they are such a beastly mech. also maybe a giga zombie mode?

I like this idea, give the 1 guy a little extra armor/firepower to mess up both teams. Like a mercenary that's just there to take out targets and get "paid" for it. I would defiantly like to see this. Fits us "lone-wolf" players perfectly.
