This is one of the features I've been dreaming (for a long time) in HWK: To pick up different visual customizations per mech, depending on what map you're about to play a match.

Do you like the idea? Discuss! ;)

I like idea, but not sure it is really needed now.
i mean, it have a sense before ascension, when mech have only one camo. like use snow-camo for bunker, and sand-camo for baazar, but since ascention people use 4 camo for mech, so they are always look like "rainbow". it doesn't matter on which map you will travel in rainbow-camo :D

also, buy a 2 mech with the same internals, and use different camo :P
you just need more brawlers in your hangar.

I like the idea but I'd prefer to choose from hue & saturation like we do with the outlines but for each patterns. I.e the yellow tiger stripes could become red tiger stripe and the black stripes could also change to white or another color then play with desaturation and make your own camo out of the given pattern.

But yeah nepacaka has an answer but goddamn that's gonna cost you...oh not wait! All camo's are for all mechs! ^_^ haha gooood update back then.
Still gonna cost you a lot of HC if you're gonna have multiple variants of same mechs.

I like this idea. Not everyone will use it, no, but there's no harm in having the option and not using it if you don't wanf to. And if it encourages people to buy multiple camos then it's good for business for Reloaded too.

Along the same vein as this idea, BF4 has 'adaptive' camos that count as a single skin but change colour depending on the map. If Reloaded doesn't want to implement multiple camos for different maps, having adaptive options like this for a slightly increased price might be cool too.

Just grind out another mech. At least you dont have to buy garage slots and paints are universal anyway.

Pubstomping is a whole different strategic discussion, however, and usually just becomes an exploration of the ethics of dumpstering randos.

I'm so lazy that I have doubles of mechs that have different weapons, same internals, only difference is the weapon. In my defense it's exactly one more click to switch weapons that to select another mech.

Just to mention that, as we actually know already, the guys in the labs are also working on a new UI version for the game. So who knows if they pay attention to this idea in the future.. I'd like to think so; I've to admit. Having one mech wearing distinct cammos per each of the maps in the game woiuld be the working way to have it right now. Most of us are owning several duplicates of our mechs in the garage so it can be done, well more or less.. At first glance, the problem would be the large row of mechs to scroll left or right for picking up your mech before a match. Fortunatelly you may click on a mech and drag/drop it within the selection row to have it, more or less, decently sorted at will.

But due the -according to the latest interviews/news- actual amount of mechs available in the game, and having into account that it'll grow and enlarged from a near future, would not be a terrible idea to consider faster and better ways to select mechs in your garage prior playing a match.

And not only to speed up visuals based selection of a mech according to a given map theme for you next match but as for example more "mech selection helpers" as follow:

1.- Per Mech Class.

2.- Per Mechs you wish to level up first in the game.

3.- Per general weapon range -CQC, mid and long range.

4.- Per general mech role. -Support, Supression, Assassin, Et cetera..

*5.- Per Mech Visuals to enjoy even more of your Cammos customization per map. -Cammo stands for Cammouflage, isn't it? ;)

...

Just to mention some, which might be IMHO, basic selection groups to speed up and improve what to pick up from your garage prior playing a -given- match.

Having map based mech camouflage is nice and all but why not go a step further. Have map variants as well. When the map switches, you have a 50/50 chance to get the alternative map variant of some maps. Example: Bazaar reg version and Bazaar sandstorm version; Last Eco reg and Last Eco snow(without the presents); Bunker reg and Bunker whiteout(snowstorm); Uptown reg and Uptown night(not too dark and with street/building lights); Frontline reg and Frontline evening(low sun, high lens flare); Wreckage reg and Wreckage downpour; ext for the other maps. Since your messing with camouflages to blend in more why not have a chance to camouflage yourself in the environment as well.

Hold on to the things you care about most, even if others see it as insignificant..If you can't be true to yourself, are you really living?

Having the maps with, for example, sunset, daylight*, storm based environments to apport more variants is a very cool idea; indeed. I think this deserves its own topic, so create it! ;)

...one more alternative I'd like to comment on here:

The whole Cammos thing would be "solved" by just permitting change cammos as we already have in the game when we want to change weapons during a match. The extra idea would be to allow different sets of cammos within the "profile" of each of your mechs. This way you could pick up on of the visual cammo sets for your mech in the same way you change weapons during the match.

How does that sound to you, guys?
