Another successful TPG Cup comes to a close! A big thanks to all participants, spectators, and admins: these events couldn't continue without your participation and support. And congratulations to the Wobbling Wimp Wibblers, Nudisto Beach, and Midwestern Blasphemy for placing first, second, and third, respectively. There was fierce competition between the twelve participating teams, and we saw many matches reach our tiebreaker maps.

 

Yesterday's Cup was the first event we've had shoutcast in its entirety. We saw an average of 44 concurrent viewers, a high of 63, and some 300+ unique views. Not bad considering our current community numbers and the fact that most competitive players were themselves participating. If you missed the broadcast, you can catch the full recording here. As we find time, we'll update this thread with highlighted matches and moments.

 

We'll continue hosting and shoutcasting these Cups as we wait for the start of TPG Season 4. As ever, they're open to everyone within the community. Don't refrain from competing because you think yourselves lacking in skill or experience � everyone starts somewhere, and competitive play is a great place to hone skills and find friends. Plus, teams outside our winners circle are eligible for our raffles! Free stuff!

 

Finally, special thanks to M1lkshake for organizing and running this event; to Counterlogicman for his PR efforts (and for supplying several raffle prizes); to Xacius and Ala for shoutcasting; and to Josh and Tiggs for supporting competitive Hawken with servers, prizes, and community notifications.

Today I am working hard on a school project. Tomorrow I will work hard on setting up the TPG Hawken youtube channel and start the process of getting all of the prize winner's information. There are already a few highlights on twitch, once I have the youtube channel setup and start exporting the highlights to youtube I will start posting them here.  If there are any moments in particular anyone would like highlighted, let me know in this thread or in a message, and it will happen.

 

A big thanks to everyone who helped out with and participated in the event. It was really rewarding to watch everyone enjoy the event! Big shout out to M1lkshake for working hard to get this all set up. Also, HUGE shout out to my teammate xspeedyx who started playing Hawken last week just to play in this event. Proof that anyone can play in TPG events, regardless of experience and skill level. 

 

Also, I think the two coolest metrics of the event, on top of the max of 63 concurrent viewers, are that we had 100 unique viewers from EU (20 UK, 20 Romania, 20 Norway, & 40 Germany), and we had a very active chat with a little over 3700 chat messages sent. Of course we cannot fail to mention that it only took roughly 4 minutes of tournament play for the first in game chat infraction to occur.

Other than the blatant cosmetic fouls that were continually ignored, it was a great event. Congrats to all.

 

Not using teamspeak  makes me an outcast but the event broadcast let me enjoy the tourney. thanks!
