Yes, it is today, and yes, it's OK to join without a mic. All you have to do it be there and be able to listen to the instruction and everything will be good :).

Freeze I already thanked you for keeping this going through The Great Silence but I'mma do it again here in public for the whole world to see!

 

I'm back! Not as a co-host of this event, but you will probably see me around more again ;) I'll try to show up now and then, I miss Michael Bay mode and the other shenanigans. Always had good laughs on the TS too, glad to see the regulars are still around.

 

I've got a couple friends new to Hawken, I'll try to bring them along some time.

 

Also very glad to see we got our own private servers for the event now! And a big thanks to Critical Assist for letting us use their server in the past ;)

Thanks to all people who attend this event! And thanks to those who organize it!

 

I'm worried about one thing though: how are we going to manage if a considerable amount of players joins the Ultra Violent event (I'm sure it's a good thing which is bound to happen, considering forum activity and all)? There are 2 private servers for the event, but what if, say, 30 people want to enter?

I hope we can get some more servers if so... I haven't been that active in the UVW events, but i have been working hard recruiting new pilots and training them to be a recognisable force on the battlefield. Training up one Heat Scout/infil and one evil Pred to join my Blitzzzzzzz atm... :D

FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE THE ULTRA-VIOLENT WEDNESDAY WILL GO ON.

I've been doing it for 8 months now, and I will do it for many more.

 

This event has never missed a Wednesday, not when the devs left, not when the forums went down, no when we lost the private servers during the Great Silence. Ultra-Violent will continue like it always has. 

 

I'm assuming this is because of the recent discontinuation of the Training Saturday 3.0: Pilot's initiative. These are completely separate events with completely different purposes.

Hey so I asked Ladytiggs and she said next week on tuesday/wednesday she could advertise UVW on twitter and facebook like she does for War Wednesday so I guess I should ask Dr Freeze before any confirmations are made that he's cool with that since he's the one hosting and all. I was just thinking it'd be nice to have a few more people around.

 

If that's not your speed I'll just answer her message and ask to call it off.

The more the merrier I say! We've been granted enough private servers to handle a lot of people, and with KDRUVW's possibility of being 24 players and Batpanda as the co-host... I mean, the possibilities are endless.

Well, ladies and gents, time for an update I think.

 

It was just announced that: "On Wednesday at 2:00 PM PDT each week, we'll be doing a rolling restart of servers by regions. Estimated downtime for each region is approximately 1 hour. " (https://community.pl...egion-restarts/). 

 

This means that, each week, there will be 1h of downtime for each region. For us 14:00 PDT would be 22:00 GMT, so during Afterparty (last hour) of UVW.

 

Now, it is perfectly possible that the EU region will be later during the process, in which case we don't have to worry about anything. If, however, this is not true then ... we'll deal with it. Probably do some pubs or duels, 2v2's in the USE fightclub servers for semi-decent ping. Nothing to worry about really.
