Right, so servers are a bit down right now, but tickets have been opened. Let's hope they're back by tomorrow. If not we'll probably be able to use BatPanda's server, since he is part of the pioneer program (Bless his lil' panda face).

Also there is a possibility I might be 15-30 min late for the Pre-Party. Schedule just worked out that way, got to be social and stuff. Shouldn't be a problem, but if it happens you guys know what to do. If anyone new shows up I will be counting on you to take care of him (or her), alright? Good day ladies and gents. So yesterday we tested out an either new or forgotten gamemode called 'VIP' aka 'Girls und Axes'. I dunno, it needs a new name. Feel free to give suggestions. I'm hoping to make this a set gamemode for the Event Actual, so you can be sure we'll play more next Wednesday. 

 

 

The rules: 

 

Each team has a VIP. This is the player is very important, and his survival determines the victor. Your goal is to kill the enemy's VIP and keep yours alive. (Only when there is one VIP is remaining is the game over, so even if it's a single VIP against and entire enemy team, if he succeeds in surviving and kills the enemy VIP his team wins.) 

 

The game works on a premadeath principle, so you are not allowed to respawn.

 

The VIP is not allowed to be a predator. (Dunno about this, but the ability to cloak and hide in a corner the entire game seems too easy. There might be counters tho, so I dunno.)

 

 

 

We might do some experimenting with 4v4v4 or more games, where there would be 3 VIP's. Might be interesting to see how this changes the flow of the match. At any rate, it's a lot easier to organised than the 'DED-RACE' mode ;). It's a pretty unique mode, especially in an FPS, but unless everyone knows exactly what the rules are it's just too complex. We'd need a full on explanation video to make it work.

 

 

UPDATE: Server is back, seems to have been a technical issue. Many love to Tiggs for fixing it.

The UltraViolent-Wed-1 server is still gone, and I hope to get a reply from Tiggs soon, but like I said I don't know when that might happen. Until then we're just gonna have to play with more than 12 players on the same server. It's poopy for balance I know, but fuzzy bunny happens.

Gotta say i love this game mode ^_^

I feel it makes for a great teamwork exercise and utilising each mech's role.

Kinda like "VIP", but an alternate name could be "Priority Target" or something along these lines

I better see you the week after, or else! And that goes for everyone else too. I don't care how drunk or tired you are, you're never too drunk or tired for ULTRA-VIOLENT WEDNESDAY! 

 

 

But yea, instakill night was so very tense. The TOW, Dumbfire, rev-GL, EOC-predator (and more) -only games were great successes. By having everyone use the same non-hitscan weapons it is very predictable and good for getting used to the weapons, but the instakill makes every shot so much more dangerous. You really gotta turn your sound up and listen for footsteps :).
