Hi there!

 

You're free to join UVW every Wednesday, but the event is meant more for messing around and doing silly things. I'd suggest you join or create a clan for Hawken and organise a weekly training specifically for the things you want to practice.

Freeze, can you update the OP with the various modes played with a summary of the mode ?

I regret that Michael Bay was a Missel Assault, the storyboard was too deep, IMHO Micheal Bay must be limited to TDM.

Have you ever tried a turret only mode ?

 

Moreover, what is the maximum number of players for the ultraviolent wednesday ? 24 ? do you have access to more than 1 private server ?

I mean we could have 2 servers at the same time, one with more serious games with TS and the actual sandbox.

Actually, MICHAEL BAAAAYYYYY is usually on Bunker Siege, but there was no siege on that specific map. Why limit something when you can do ALL the things? Remember: this is UVW. It's not meant to be nice and organised. (Rather a drunk, incoherently singing mass we seem to dissolve into after a few hours.)

 

Turret only mode is too slow, just like 'Crabby Mech'. Not really all that fun to play.

 

We've got two private server, one of them is functioning as the Priority Target II server. Both are 24 man servers, but keep in mind that for instagib that makes two 12 man servers. Still, there was only one occasion where we had to use both servers, when there was more than 24 attendees. I'm not going to split UVW into 'silly' and 'serious' servers. That's what KDR is for.

To join the server you must be on the TeamSpeak ( Officially Unofficial: ts5.gameservers.com:9152, guide here) first. This is important because I need to be able to explain the custom gamemodes and run the event.

Tiggs has to approve the first five posts of a new account, probably her daily round in the forums isn't that daily after all. I'm okay with a new account only being allowed to post once per day until it has got a certain amount of posts, but that these posts have to get approved by someone to show up in the forums in the first place is not the best solution, one might change that to not being allowed to post pics until one has got a certain amount of posts, otherwise it's just a huge waste of time for the forum mods having to approve the posts.

I have in mind the idea of a mini tourney "Michael Bay presents : The Bunker Siege"

 

It would consist in bunker siege with teams of 3 players.

Mutators : No repair, friendly fire on (are there any other mutators ?)

Internals/items limited to PrT (no scancer, no orblord internals, no composite armor)

 

Mech selection would be : one of each Mech

Primary weapons limitations : no vulgren, no PPA incin'.

 

Are you open to it ? Do you want to try it ?

I don't play that often in UVW and I wont be able to attend today, but I'm all with you guys.

 

Rozy, I dunno why you didn't come, you should have stayed with us

As people wanted to keep playing past the first two games so I guess that the mode was OK then.

 

My feedback :

- weapons limitations are OK with this map, messing around in bunker with rev-gl / heat or BBY was really fun.

- there is a small point about the seeker rocketeer but as you are always pushing inside the bunker it's not too OP.

- the no scanner is just for fun as there is no radar 

- the self healing internals really are the meta in this mode, but it seemed that they were not that OP as you can't really camp (everything is focused on the bunker)

- 3 vs 3 was OK taking account the low EU supply (more would be too much IMHO) 

- Siege is still a bit long, maybe a victory when ennemy base HP is below 500 would be enough.

It is not too long in my opinion. But interrupting the game at 500 points is a bit odd. Simply get in more players. More players, more explosions, faster matches.

We can't change the base HP so interrupting mid-game is the only way to modify it.

 

I have 2 (good) reasons to think that more players won't lead to a shorter match :

- if you paid attention well we ran out of EU in the station very rapidly

- the match lasted around 20min and some where quite one sided, so if the matches are balanced it means more time to gather EU to launch, more launch, ..., so longer games.

 

Note that we can't either do stupid events such as a siege with enough base HP to last ~2hours

I was still so thoroughly pissed that it carried me through the following 3 hours of hawken stateside with relative ease.

Guys just so you know the UVW second anniversary is coming up next month 7th of september 2 years of UVW it's coming up guys remember the date 07/09/2015 also three weeks ago was the 100th uvw I didn't check in time but don't worry aight in a few weeks 2 years of UVW.
