In a nutshell: Just Too much.
Overall: The game is waaaaay too complicated. All of the game modes have unnecessary complexity. There is far too much useless customization. I think I would enjoy the game if it was more skill focused and less flashy.
As an aside if you strictly are speaking about mech combat, Hawken blows this game out of the water. Titans feel clunky and unwieldy. Combat is not dynamic.

I guess they should have split some of it off into titanfall 1. They might have had 3/4ths of a full game.

Well, at the time respawn was working on titanfall 1 they were geting the crap sued out of them by Activision. Lawyers clamping down on dev progress? Where have we heard this before?
I like going against the best of any game I play. Helps you in the long run n motivates u to do more. Always room for improvement not failure
