Bracket Rules

 

 

I made a really cool post here, but it was too mlgpro for most of the forum-goers.  

 

As such, I've decided to restructure that thread here.  

 

Tournament date: April 25th, brackets starting at 2pm PST / 5pm EST

 

 

It's time for the Hawken Try-Weekly tournament.  The name is staying.  

My plan is to host this tournament on every third Saturday of the month, but this first one will be a trial run.  We can rotate game modes, but for now we'll be starting with TDM.  

 

Rules:

• Double elimination.  If you lose one set, you're put into a loser's bracket.  If you lose two sets, you're out completely.  

• TDM on the following maps:

  Wreckage, Uptown, Bunker, Facility, Origin, and Prosk.  Last Eco and Frontline are barred because of their size.  

• No more than one of each weight type.  You'll need 1 A, 1 B, 1 C.  

• No team-swapping.  All players are locked in.  

• Classes/sizes are not locked for this tournament, but size restrictions are enforced for the duration of a match.  You may switch classes/sizes during a match, but only if there are never 2 mechs of the same size in play at any time.  If you spawn and violate mech restrictions, you'll be forced to commit suicide.  

• The only banned item is the Portable Scanner, because it's broken as fuzzy bunny.  

• No exploitative suicides.  i.e. healing to full health and then killing yourself to replenish items (committing pilot error and preventing the enemy team from getting a kill).  Any instance of dying will count as a point for the enemy team.  

 

The tournament is separated into two brackets.  

-Winner's bracket

-Loser's bracket

 

Each bracket has their own Quarter- and Semi-finals.  

 

The winner of Loser's finals will play the winner of the Winner's bracket.  

 

Please provide your preferred server region/average pings to that region/other regions nearby.  I'm going to try to make this accommodating (ping-wise) for all parties involved.

I hope the game are in USE servers. Or at least it's a possibility.

 

That will largely depend on the teams that sign up.  Ideally, we'd like to have fair and balanced ping for everyone, but that's not always a viable option.  At best, we can handle it on a case-by-case basis.  Sign up anyway, providing your preferred server region/average pings to that region.
