Teams will be organized into brackets by 2pm.  Depending on the number of servers we have, we'll get as many games going as possible.  Everyone should have screenshot capabilities in case there's a score debate or something to that degree.  Hopefully, everyone can be civil and not lie/cheat.  I'm not suspecting any foul play, but you never know.  

 

Every set is default to best 2/3 matches.  

 

Bracket rules:

 

Double elimination

If you lose a set, you're bumped down to the loser's bracket.  If you lose another set in the loser's bracket, you're eliminated from the tournament.  

 

More detailed: 

I'm anticipating that there will be at least four rounds in each pool.  

Starting in the winner's bracket (everyone starts in the winner's bracket): The winners of the first round move forward to the winner's bracket round 2.  The losers of the first round go to loser's bracket round 1.  

 

The losers of the winner's bracket round 2 will be bumped to the loser's bracket, and will go to play the winners of the loser's bracket round 1.  The losers of the winner's bracket round 3 will be bumped down to play the winners of the loser's bracket round 2.  This process repeats until the loser's finals are concluded.  The winners of the winner's bracket obviously stay in the winner's bracket until they lose.  

 

All semi-finals and finals sets will be played best 3/5.  

 

 

Finals: The winner of the "loser's bracket" final will face the winner of the winner's bracket final.  This will be a best 3/5.  If the loser's bracket finalist wins against the winner's bracket finalist, another set must be played to determine the winner of the finals (as the winner's bracket finalists will not have lost, so they'd essentially have been bumped to the loser's bracket from their first loss).  

 

 

 

Map selection rules: 

best 2/3: 

Team 1 chooses the first map

Team 2 chooses the second map (can also be the same map as before)

If there's a third round, and both teams cannot agree on a map, it will be chosen at random from the available selection (but will not include one of the first two maps played).  If both teams do agree on a map, then it can be from one of the two maps played previously.  

 

best 3/5: 

Team 1 chooses the first map

Team 2 chooses the second map (can also be the same map as the first team's pick)

Team 1 chooses the third map.  

Team 2 chooses the fourth map (if applicable)

If both teams cannot agree on a 5th map, a map will be chosen at random from the available pool.  If both teams do agree on a map, then it can be from one of the maps played previously.  

 

 

Recording: 

Streaming/recording is encouraged, though not required.

Update:  I have not heard word about the central servers.  If the developers can't get them up by tomorrow, I may postpone the tournament until next weekend.

Alright guys, the bracket is confirmed.  

 

The Reloaded guys and gals have generously supplied three servers for the event.  Big shoutout to Reloaded for the assistance here.    

 

The tournament is ready to go, and the Challonge has been set up!  

 

Due to the short notice, I will be letting teams sign-up until the start of the tournament at 2pm PST.  If you feel like registering last minute, now is your chance!

I had a real hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to say to go along with this pic. I was super proud of our performance in this round skill-wise, communication-wise and the fact that we made it up as we went, adapted well and had fun. For a team pretty much assembled the day of, I'm really proud of what we did and this pic sums it up well.

 

Thanks american, for bearing with. Thanks Scooby and Merl. It was great to play with you again.
