I think we all understand that  the tech needs a higher heat generation on the secondary. It may be a little soon just to be saying this but I do think the healing ray or whatever it is called to be debuffed with higher heat gen.

Draco, thanks for those rough calculations.

I noticed the armor values have not been increased (500 on an A mech in the cockpit of the Technician). Is there enough to determine if dmg has been decreased at all_ There's a TOW hit at about 0:08, for instance.

Looks like it could barely defend itself, lol.
With dat self-heal rate, I don't think it needs to really...

Also at :33 you can see that the switch from "urinal beam" to "bloody beam" is manual. Thought it was a cool animation.

Although I imagine the 15% damage taken debuff could result in some damage ramp from the nanorifle.

Nanobot special ability appears to negate heat generation.

And if that then adds to the heal rate from the leaching, this thing is going to be a bloody nightmare. All they'd have to do is drop a healing charge and they'd basically be a turreted Brawler (albeit one that can be OHKO'd by a few classes).

I was thinking that as well. Every other beam started heat gen when I counted about three seconds. Green beam never started, even after 4-5.

The lime-jello beam does generate heat: the heat indicators show up, although the generation is so low that not even the first pip is lit. The indicators show whenever heat is non-zero, even if no pips are lit.

The heat gen may be modified by the special ability.

Oh great, a no skill heal gun, as usual.  Guess people just correctly assume the people in the back trying to be beneficial by supporting their team are the ones that cant aim, or they'd be in the front killing the enemy.

Can we please please please have the heal gun require aim.  Please.

It looks like the cannon will have a small area of effect. Notice the ground explosion it causes at 0:39. This could be because of its intended low skill ceiling.

I assumed that was simply an animation, but it may be a small AoE, like you said. :P

That deploy-able wall is exactly the kind of field-changer that I wanted for the Reaper..I am ambivalent about the Technician until I use it. I want a higher TTK in general but I am not able to say if the Technician is a viable approach to a lower TTK since it will be so selective. The Objective modes (Siege and Missile Assault) might be a real turnoff if people are able to stack an SS at their spawn that can shoot the lanes on AA with a Tech and Brawler dug in at the AA. It could be really, really hard to dislodge unless you answer Tech with Tech.

If that happens it would be akin to the 'gotta have a healer' dynamic in MMO raids. I am one of those people who usually does not enjoy playing a healer class and I am afraid it might have to become a mandatory part of my rotation in Hawken.

If you look at the trends in any class based PvP game where a healer is worth having, it becomes a necessity to have at least one (mostly dependent on team sizes) to win.

This thing generates like no heat, it heals in any mode, and the beam sticks....... not sure how I feel about that unless I go against it. Although I can say I don't think I will get it.

O, I almost for got to scream:
LEECH BEAM!!

The shield could be a mirror shield, bouncing shots back at an angle.
