I thought we could use a thread for abjectly bad ideas; the worst things you can imagine being done to Hawken, in terms of balance, and possibly your sanity.  I've found it can be very therapeutic and fun to take the metaphorical piss and completely overshoot any semblance of balance.  With a bazooka. Post your ideas as either earnest suggestions or as patch notes for maximum effect.  I even encourage the devs to get in on the action, have some fun guys! :D

 

Without further ado, I'm gonna kick this debasement off!

 

• New 3-slot composite armor item: 25% reduction in damage after death.  Effect persists until the pilot achieves 4 kills or 8 assists.
• New Mk IV Scanner with four uses!  With this new addition, up to four scanners per player can now be dropped and active simultaneously!
• Red aura on the Heat Charge item was found to be too obvious and graphically taxing.  It has been moved to all grenade secondary weapons.
• Within 150m of any Brawler, at any time, John Cena's theme will play continuously.

If this is meant to be a joke topic full of outrageous suggestions, then either of the Mess Hall boards are a better place for it.

 

However, if this to be a topic of suggestions that could be easily implemented, are frequently suggested, or seem reasonable initially, but would be a horrible thing to add to the game, then I'm all for this thread.  It could serve as an easy way to summarize THINGS HAWKEN DOES NOT NEED, AND WHY.

Every mech except the zerker should be deleted from the game forever and anyone with an MMR of exactly 2416.3369140625023 should have unlimited health, heat, and items.

Joke thread.  It is much more difficult to recognize, and especially convince others, that a frequent suggestion would be terribad.  Such a thread would be long-winded and take people skilled at articulating the objective impacts of changes convincingly, if the purpose is actually to inform others and prevent some number of further suggestions for a bad change.

 

All of that is a lot of baggage more fit for the Old Guard than myself.  I'm alright with the thread being moved if we're srsbzns only here.  Just thought folks here could use a chuckle.  And I like absurdity, that too.

- Rocket turret was underpowered so now it has hellfires
- Incin heat management was too difficult. Instead of overheating, it automatically uses ability.
- A class armor increased by 50%
- C class mobility increased by 50%
- B is fine
- Hovering uses heat instead of fuel
- Inf is permanently cloaked, use ability to uncloak for 5s
- Orb item now has a lifetime of 30s instead of fixed amount of health
- Barrier deals damage (this might be a good idea in fact?)
- HC is used as ammunition

My idea of Bitchin Zerker Cape and Superman logo.   ALso one-time use super rocket booster item.  It would throw you like 50 meters at an incredible rate. 

 

 

Why can't robots have collision damage?   Add collision damage so when i raider into somebody at full speed we get hurt.  Maybe make a crash armor internal then too.  it would add another dimension to fighting and facehugging.

Make all dodges last as long as the player keeps pressing down the associated keys, allowing you to dodge all the way across the highway on Frontline should you so desire. this works great with deflectors btw.

It's still somewhat possible - although the ~0.1s delay isn't exactly simultaneous, it's fairly close.

I'll leave figuring out how to you.

Tweak the Blockade item so instead of having a health pool its duration is dependent on the life of the player who deployed it.  it stays up indefinitely and is unable to be taken down so long as s/he who used it stays alive.  Also, this is not limited to just one blockade per user per life.

- Bubble shields cannot be walked through, but can be stood upon OR walking through bubble shields leaves a hole in the side.

- ISM disruptor now drops and disperses 20 baby bomblets that proc the same effect with staggered detonations.

 

- Killstreaks (battleship bombardment, mortar strike, 1HKO item unlock)

 

- No dodge cooldown
