I made a montage video of some gameplay, thoughts?

Gameplay was solid but to really make a great montage you need to time the frags to the song / try to tell a story. Great start though. Do more.

Hey everyone!

 

I made a montage video of some gameplay, thoughts?

 

Your gameplay would suggest that you can find better kills to showcase.

 

There are a lot of kills on enemies that aren't actually fighting you and are running away or repairing, and you seem to have a reasonable sense of how to play in comparison to your enemies. I sort of have to take some points off for that.

 

One more comment, a gameplay critique, not a style point, during the fight that occurs around 1:50, you drop an orb, and then completely abandon it while your enemy is still in the same area. If your enemy had any wits about him, he'd have jumped on that orb and you would have had a much more difficult fight on your hand.

 

Keep playing and making these, but my advice is to be a little more selective in the content.

I just used what footage I had from a few days ago, so next time I'll make sure to use 1v1,2,3 etc videos only :)

I never noticed that at 1:50, thanks, I'll make sure in future to watch my orb placement, it's not really an issue at my mmr but it's always good to kill bad habits early.

Op's gettin the hang of things tho, good stuff.  Echoing what everyone said about basically specifically selecting real WOW kills and timing them to the music.

fuzzy bunnyng love that song! Had to check my sanity and browse my music to be certain i had it- so nostalgic, i love you.

 

+1 on the orb, i was like "BRUH NO" at that part.

Also +1 on the 'You can get better kills' subject. Also +1 on the music syncing and story telling- or some sort of notable theme/structure.

^^^ The above being said, it seems like you put this together with very minimal footage over a very minimal time frame, with minimal song options, so here's the final con consensus:

 

Holy poop, absolutely awesome!

 

I see a lot of potential in both your gameplay and video production. Please for the love of god stay with Hawken, and continue making videos.

Next video just take your time, really commit to putting your 100% into it; getting your best footage, picking the perfect song, structuring the video exactly how you see fit, etc.- understanding that it doesn't have to be flawless, and that you will always have room to improve.

 

I also have plenty of songs i think can work for montages (kinda related [the video in this post]: https://community.pl...-please-help/),i'd love to help.
