Wow the forums are back up and its been such a long time. It great to see so many familiar names, shout outs to my fellow Hawken Vets. Makes me wonder if this old wardog .....err warg... is still remembered :D

 

I am...... was? (whatever) your average Hawken fuzzy bunny pilot for the times of old who loves pie and was just looking for a good mech game and fell in love with this one was sad when I saw it fade.

Hey mayne, I'm Mr. Iron Lich (MrIronLich). I'm pretty excited to be here. 

 

Hawken is great and I knew that I wanted to be involved from the very first teaser. Mechs in space, this crap is EXACTLY what I'm into and I'm sure some of you know what I mean. Not only that, but the game has great movement, weight and game feel to boot! It's a simple and strategic game. It requires SKILLS, and I love it.

 

I lost touch with Hawken early on but now I'm back, baby. I may be atrociously unskilled, easily frustrated and annoying but...whatever I guess :)

Hi, I'm IngloriousTech. I just found this game a few days ago, and I really love it, even though I suck pretty badly still... It's a very long time (if ever) since I found such a nice combo of a really fun game and - as far as I can tell - a very nice, helpful, and relaxed community!

 

I'm sorry to see the past posts about turmoil and uncertainty, and current worries about the future of the game. It would be a great pity to see such a nice game and community disappear, so I really hope things will sort themselves out! I will try my best to contribute to the games survival!!

I'm ShyShade, and I've been using this game handle for the better part of a decade. I've been playing Hawken since open beta, which I think was mid December 2012. I don't know the exact date. I'm sure my old forum profile had it, but that's obviously been lost with the change of developers.

 

Nonetheless, I highly doubt anyone remembers me. I lurk on the forums more than I post, and I play games more than I lurk. Even on the old forum, I doubt I had more than 20 posts total. But now I'm back, and it's nice to see some familiar names still around. While I may be an old player, I'm young in actual game hours, hardly 100+. I do love the game, but I only play Hawken on and off in bursts. This is due to life schedule and the myriad of other games I play. Then sometimes I want to login, but find no unlocked servers to join, especially when I try to get on at weird times of day. I have a mild interest in clans and organized play, but you'd practically have to drag me there and show me proper 2100+ game mechanics.

 

I'm excited to see that Hawken is in new hands with active development. I'm optimistic that in due time, the new developers will shoulder the weight of reviving Hawken, release content and balance changes, and expand the player-base.

Another returning player. First started when all the weapons were available to all classes...dont remember how early that was.

 

I stopped playing while the other devs were still in control (Adhesive/Meteor?) due to connection problems and then kinda forgot about the game. Later down the line i started checking the forums again and found out what had happened. I was quite sad.

 

Been on/offing the forums for sometime and just now decided to log back on, ill be downloading the game back in the coming days to see how it is. (Going to be busy with U18.5 for another game though >.>)

 

Shitty stories aside, im Ecdysis and i fuzzy bunnyng love all things techy.

Another returning player after reading new people are behind Hawken this time.

 

I found the game some time ago, but had several problems with ping and... divergence of opinions with the playerbase about the whereabouts of my mother during night times, so I tossed the game away. Which was a shame because the theme and gameplay were pretty good nonetheless.

Then I found out many Hawken-related threads in some sites I am around about having... movie scripts, some sort of books and whatnot and thought the game was done for because of such silly and seemingly wasteful expenses.

 

After a couple of months and reading about new content brought by new guys, I decided to give it another chance. So far so good, so this time I actualy took the time to come around and say "Hello".

Hi, I'm Mevaker, and this is quite simply my favorite game of all time. I can't explain it but this game has something truly magical about it. I am so happy it is back in good hands, I only hope the Dev team knows what a precious thing they hold in their hands. I have been playing since sometime 2011-2012?I don't remember clearly but I believe it was beginning open beta? or was it closed? not sure. It feels like forever sometimes, I remember when the internals made sense to me and when the HUD got changed up, I remember the dismay of many at steam getting ahold of it and turning it into "COD with robots" I remember so many things so fondly about this game, I only hoe it comes to life. If you see me online, feel free to add me as a friend and ask me about stories of hawken's "ancient past" I play assault-style in-your-face mechs, and as long as hawken is around, I plan to be as well. Thank you dear friend, for being such an awesome game.

Found this game while browsing early access free to play games on Steam . First thought In mind was to stream this game and see how It goes. 2 almost 3 hours Into the game and I must say I very much enjoy the game and will be playing often to keep this community alive and put It back to It's former glory I have heard so much about.

Hi, I'm Slip and i honestly do not remember how i got here. Apparently I've been here since 12/13/12 but I probably didn't get to really play the game because I had a rusty toaster (still do, just not as rusty now). Hi, Apples here, I first played Hawken just after the Steam release and loved it, but then got sucked into Dota 2 and kinda forgot about it :/ I came back a few days ago and it's just as good as I remeber. New player here. I really love this game just because of its theme (cmon, piloting huge mecha while blasting away at other mecha? Where else can you find this?).
I also love the current balance in this game.

Although it is really hard as a newbie due to the amount of veterans and low playerbase, I still enjoy and have fun. I hope that there will be more updates and new features in the future.

I go by JClowNz. Saw that the game was coming out on Xbox1 and PS4 today, so I thought I would check it out on PC. Everything's better on PC, right? Gotta say, I like the game. My first 2 matches today weren't bad. Wasn't expecting to do awesome, since I'm new to PC gaming too. But I won both. Came to the forums to learn more, and figured I would introduce myself with my only post. I also like the stream support you guys have, so I definitely want to do that.

Heyo!  I don't play too often, but I've been rather fond of the game since I got it on Steam last year.  I actually got the graphic novel for my birthday the other day and I love the hell out of it, and now I'm wondering what that live-action series would've turned out like had it actually been made.

 

(Incidentally, I heard that getting the book is supposed to give you a code for 10k in-game credits of some sort, but I'm not certain I got one- did that sort of thing end up being discontinued?)

Hey there, I'm new to the game as well. I had my eye on Hawken when it was first released back in 2013, but I didn't have a PC nearly good enough to run it at the time. Now that I finally have one, I find that Hawken is probably one of the most fun mech shooters I've ever played, and I've ranged from Mechwarrior to Armored Core to Chrome Hounds and even Titanfall. It's really close to an Armored Core and Mech Warrior fusion, and so far I'm loving it completely!

 

But to be fair, seems like a lot of you guys are right and the devs are idjits when it comes to actually paying attention.

 

Here's hoping I can enjoy Hawken for another year, and get as good as some others with their mech control.
