Hi, new forums! Hello, old friends!

 

I started playing sometime during beta and have always enjoyed the game. I admire Hawken's genuinely Free2Play business model. The option to support the game via cosmetic enhancements only is what keeps me playing and paying for new cosmetics whenever I can. It's nice to know that when I lose a fight or a match that it's not because I haven't paid enough for the latest "best" gear/weapons. Thanks for such a great game. I'm thrilled to see it picking up steam again. See you on the battlefield!

 

p.s. more maps like Prosk map please! BEST map in the game!! Love it!

Hello, I'm Vekta.

 

I'm a refugee from another game that no longer has any competitive value in it. The skill cap was lowered quite a bit over the course of several updates. It was a good run, over 1000 hours but I guess it's time to move on.

 

I found Hawken a couple weeks ago. I'm aware of a little bit of the past history of the game. I'm also aware there is a new dev team.

 

I wasn't sure about this game at first. The skill cap is definitely much higher than the previous game I was playing. Combat is much faster, far more intense even at the bottom of the newbie tiers where I currently am. The thing that sold me on this game is seeing members of the new dev team in twitch streams and playing the game.

 

I'm playing this game just to play it. But at some point that competitive player in me may come out again. Clan membership? Maybe. But for now I'll be content with just being considered a decent player of the game. Currently that is certainly something I am not, ha.

Yes, this game requires very quick thinking and reflexes, especially in the lighter mechs. Trust me, being bad at the game at first is routine, but just persist and you will get with the flow eventually.

 

I'd also like to give you a pointer, there is a free code you can enter that gives you an Assault mech full of items and internals: LOADEDASSAULT

I've been all over Hobbes's videos. I'm more interested in the heavies. I see a ton of A- classes in game. I wanna be a rebel! lol.

 

I almost got all the weapons and unlock-able skins for the Bruiser so it's time to pick something else up.

Beta tester from early 2013, when everyone started with Fred and liked it, Bruiser was broken, and there was no such thing as Reaper or even internals. Dunno why I stopped playing, because this is the only online multiplayer game that's ever really gripped me, and one of the few FPSes I've ever played for that matter.

Getting back into the game, casually climbing up the MMR rankings until I reach a comfortable level.

If you see me, I'll likely be reaping or raiding. I might even start using more than 2 mechs once i can actually afford the internals and items for all the slots (though my raider is still only half-equipped).

I've been playing this game for a while.  I used to play Mechwarrior a long time ago and have always loved mech games and shows.  Hawken's more functional than MW was though because of the control scheme.  Couple it with the rift and it's an amazing experience.  I can't wait until there's a consumer release of the VR helmet to go with this.  Anyway, you'll normally find me sniping off in the distance so I'll see you all out there.

Nah, there's no money grind.

You can easily get everything you need by just playing.  In fact, if you stick with a single mech at a time and play it all the way through, you'll have all the HC you need to buy and equip another mech.  You can essentially just keep playing straight through each mech, one at a time, without ever having to waste a bit of time grinding for credits.

Holy fuzzy bunny. Hello EliteShooter. I was just talking about you a month or so ago. Hell yes I remember you. Played with you many a time back in the early days. Been here since 1st closed Beta. Missed alpha. Don't know if you remember me but I'm the 62 yr old (now) player who was on oxygen 24/7 even then. Had just got it like a couple of months before I started playing Hawken. I did a lot ob Bruiser and Sharpshooter back then. Great to see you back mate. :)

I'm awtc, I've played HAWKEN since summer of 2014 and think it's the most fun online shooter there is. I'm glad to see that since the new development team took over, there's been some progress again and I hope they can make it work financially in the long term. Imho they should maybe add one more map and then declare it final release 1.0.

New to Hawken and really enjoying it so far. I wanted to play this game for a long time but it wasn't until now that I found the time to put into it. I'm a total mech junkie so I was in love minute one into this awesome game. I'm looking to make some pals, get less terrible and have fun.

Hello I'm claisolais, I play in EU and NorthUS servers, and in rare case, Tokyo servers.

 

In case you wander, it's a shortened version of Cla�omh Solais, Odin's sword. Read the story and you'll see why I love to switch team and revenge to my formal teammates because they dont do teamwork.

 

I hate quitters (Unless they are as bad as nothing :/ ), love reking bots, my aiming sux, but always complain about bad teamwork.  

 

If team totally sux, I'll give up on them and playing solo trying to get some kils/ revenges.  YES I LOVE revenge kills cos I am claisolais. 

 

But I don't quit a game. I will try something else to fit in a working team, or something that might bring me higher score--better than lower.

 

And, if you do teamwork and try hard, even you may have 0/10/xx, I am with you.

 

 

Something extra: my English is not very good, I typing slowly, and I don't play it regularly therefore I cant join any league or clan, sadly.

 

And I vote for pre-Ascension.

 

See you in...well, best scenario--in Coop game modes.

Hello all, NecroTapir here (Tapir's fine too)-

 

I'm not a new player to Hawken or FPS's in general, but I am new to the forums since I never made an account when I first started playing. I've been slowly increasing the time I spend playing the game over the past two weeks, especially after seeing that CapnJosh had sprung in to take the place of the old devs, and I'm looking to also increase how much time/attention I put into the forums.

 

Other than that, not much else to say in terms of the game - relatively average Bruiser/Brawler player, working on earning my stripes in the mechs I own, and newfound fan of War Wednesdays after finally being able to hop in last night.

 

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the battlefield!

Hello. I play as ARCH3TYP3.
I installed Hawken in April 2014 and instantly fell in love with it.
I was an Unreal Tournament 2004 fanatic, (twitch FPS) and also loved Mech Assault on the original xbox. Hawken combined appealing aspects of both for me and I bought a bunch of MC and a Mech bundle and practiced a bit.
I was very fortunate to receive some 1 on 1 training from OmegaNull, which I still appreciate immensely.
The game quickly became very frustrating for me, however, as my patience was at an all time low. I uninstalled it around June 2014.
I just recently returned to it in the past few weeks and have been having a blast.
I have been playing with some great pilots which have made the game more enjoyable than ever and who have inspired me to try harder and play smarter.
