im asking out of pure curiosity, So please pick a mech or two or three, Then tell us what's the best primary for it and why?

Before you say "best at what" i mean best all around weapon.

The best primary for scout is the flak cannon because it has the best burst damage.

ok. personally, i think some mechs have two good weapon.
for example assault. it extremely good with AR, if you have good aim. at the same time, vulcan decrease your maneveurbality (fuzzy bunny this! it is impossible writing this word correct without translator), but can exterminate C-class very fast.
Also, i always go with SMC, because SMC funny and working much more good if you nub with 30% aim percentage in statictic.

but anyway, i try.
Brawler - SA, Flak
Grenadier - Vulcan (biut sometimes RevGL can be super good)
Cupcake - MFlak (and SMC if you nub)
Incinerator - papa
G2-Raider - lol. T32. It is obviously

Assault/TV - SMC, AR
Raider - reflak35
Bruiser - Vulcan
Predator - Breacher
SS - Slug

Scout - Flak
Infil - Heat, EOC
Bers - SMC
ripper - Slug
tech - RPR

...did i miss something?
oh, sure, i forgot rocketeer. best rocketer weapon - Heat and EOC. and don't tell me that i'm wrong! xD

I feel as though there are many mechs that have two or three viable primaries. Or mechs where different primaries cater to different play styles. There are very few where there is only one viable primary, and many where all three see play.

There are only three mechs in the game where one weapon is clearly better than its other choices. They are:

 

Tech - Hawkins-RPR

Incinerator - PPA

Rocketeer - Seeker

Heat is objectively better than seeker. Redox is situationally better than RPR. While I don't disagree that those weapons are better for the general populous, they can't be said to be unequivocally the best. As for PPA.....yeah. It's the best.

I think Seeker is far easier than HEAT on the Rocketeer, but I think the HEAT is just a stronger weapon in all ways compared to the Seeker.  Seeker is easier, but the HEAT has so much showing that it is just flat out a good weapon (see: HEAT Scout, HEAT Infil, and to a lesser extent, HEAT Gren) that I would assume it can outperform a Seekerteer.

I think that the seeker is a better loadout for the rocky as you have to stay out of cover to use hellfire. You wont have good alpha strike and wont be able to suppress pple hidding in cover "1 HEAT left / 1 grenade right" at mid / short range.

 

The best rockies I've seen had a good knowledge of their efficient range : ie. just a little farther than mid range, and they could soak up enough damage to win a DPS race even against a salt.

I think that even if the uncharged HEAT has higher DPS, I don't think that you'll be able to deal the same amount of damage (i.e. lower accuracy or damage reduced because it wont be a direct hit).
