I really feel that my more successful matches are when people are using a mic or headset to communicate. This just seem seem like a no brainer. 

 

I am using the  Meteor Mic from Samson

What kind of headset or mic do you use?

Logitech G930 gets the job done for me. Sometimes the mic on my webcam if I'm streaming I guess.

I used to use the same mic as the OP, but now I use a Razer Seiren. For headphones, I just use Razer Krakens.

Normally I use the Razer Megalodon (even though I don't like it that much), when I want a better quality I use my T.Bone SC440. Yes, you're right, communication is very important, that's why I am often on the Officially Unofficial Hawken Teamspeak, everybody should check it out.

None, because VOIP has been broken for nearly two years, lol ( I don't use the unofficial option ).

 

That is a priority to get fixed though, for certain- good coms are vital in a FPS environment....

some piece of crap mic that I found at work, I think it was actually part of a headset. But it works, and it fits perfectly into my makeshift monitor stand, so I can just yell towards the screen. Also started playing with effectogram to add reverb and pitch-shift and stuff.

I use a V-Moda Boompro, and highly recommend it if you use headphones with a detachable cable.  Great quality for the price.

Most of the time I use my mic in my Logitech PRO C920 HD webcam. (stereo mics) I also have a Creative Labs Tactic 3D Alpha headset/mic for when I feel compelled to use TS.

Correct, there is currently no voip in the game.  Afaik there's no word on when or if it's coming back.

I use a Razer Kraken 7.1. It was 70 or so USD, has 7.1, bass boost, insane quality, and a nice program to control the led's and equalizer. It works flawlessly and background noise is never an issue.

25-30 euro razer fatal1ty headset. To use microphone i have to use cheap usb sound card. Fortunately, sound i hear comes from graphic card instead, suprisingly, quality of recorded voice is quite good. I dont bother to check quality of playbacked sound sourced from that thing. Headset sounds good but i have to take a break every 2-3 hours (mostly used in work :p). Uncomfortable after that. So ears need about 15mins to recover.

Zalman Mic-1, custom applied on Superlux headphones. Cheapest clip-on mic (7€), best bang 4 the buck. Has betta quality than 90 % of mics under 20 Euros. Only needs 2 be positioned right next 2 the lips, but that's an easy task. Recommend it highly. 4 the prize and quality u can't go wrong. Same is true 4 the Superlux headphones. Promised.
