Scheduling
Hawken's quiescence forced TPG to ease its scheduling restrictions during Season 2; we wouldn't've have finished otherwise. This season, however, we will be more strict. During the pre-season we'll be reviewing our scheduling process and penalties. We'll adjust them accordingly if teams aren't properly scheduling their matches or aren't reporting scores through the TPG site (yes, I know it's a bit clunky).
A few things to note:
- Captains, you may assign Schedulers and Reporters (in addition to yourselves) through the Team Panel (left-hand side of the site when you login). Select "Manage Team Roster" and check the appropriate box(es).
- Captains and Schedulers, you should be arranging your matches through TPG's scheduling tool. Under the Team Panel, select "Season Matches" to view assigned opponents. Select "Schedule" to select a time and write (match-related) messages to the opposing Captain/Scheduler. Having a record of scheduling efforts greatly eases Admin pains.
- I encourage Captains and Schedulers to add their upcoming opponents on Steam and coordinate match times through chat. However, please spend the thirty seconds it takes to update the TPG Scheduler accordingly.
- Please play your matches promptly. Again, I fully appreciate the extenuating circumstances surrounding Season 2. However, teams should no longer require 2-3 weeks to schedule and play their matches. Get them done within the week of their listing. If you require more time, contact me through Steam (OmniNept).
- Strongly consider making Sunday @ 9 EST your standard match time/date. If this season's teams get sloppy with scheduling, TPG will strongly consider this arrangement for you.
- Report scores promptly after matches. It takes ten seconds.
- No schedule dicking. In other words, don't try to obtain advantages or forfeits through scheduling (e.g., intentionally selecting inconvenient dates). Won't work, and I will hear about it.
Matches (Click here for rosters)
Axe Attack vs. The B-Team
Crushinator vs. Super Awesome Sparkle Cupcakes
The Hawken Collective vs. Violent Resolution
The Automatic Mustangs vs. Trentik Defense Militia
These matches have been arranged to shed some light on relative skill levels - just in case we run scheduling options that aren't "everyone plays everyone". I'd also like for teams to provide feedback (either within this thread or by messaging me through Steam) on the new restrictions listed below.
Updated Restrictions: the Basic Extractor, Extractor, Repair Kit, and Advanced Repair Kit internals are now banned. Our intent is to curtail "Orb lording" without entirely removing Repair Charges and their impact on gameplay. In our opinion, orb lording upsets class balance, heavily discourages evasive movement, and presents players an obvious "best build" for almost any situation or mech.
TPG may reverse these restrictions (or add new ones) during or after pre-season play.
Map List
- Bazaar
- Bunker
- Facility
- Frontline
- Last Eco
- Origin
- Wreckage
Updated Map Selection Rules: Teams that select Bazaar must concede side selection to their opponents - for that map only (side selection is otherwise irrelevant within MA). Given the difficulty remembering which side is which (Sentium vs. Prosk), side selection may be made at the beginning of a round. To avoid side-related disputes, TPG will never select Bazaar as its weekly tiebreaker map.
If you're curious, this is the Sentium side.
