TPG is Hawken's community-based, competitive league.  After two successful seasons, we're launching into our third and are looking for more participants.  We currently have nine competitive teams, most of which are running full rosters.  A tenth team in the works but we require more members and a captain.  The league is open to participants of all ability levels, so please don't be shy: if you're interested, simply post within this thread.

 

Anyone interested in the captain position should be aware that patience and in-game experience are large assets.  Effective captains are able to establish a friendly, improvement-oriented atmosphere on TeamSpeak.  They must also possess strong organizational skills.

 

Commitment Expectations

• TPG requires teams to play one match per week.  Matches typically take 30-45 minutes to complete.
• TPG requires that players record their matches + take pre- and post-round screenshots (4 or 6 screenshots total, depending on the number of rounds played).
• Any additional practice times that your captain establishes.  Teams typically dedicate one or two additional nights for practice.
• Your firstborn.

I should mention that a tenth team would open scheduling possibilities apart from "everyone plays everyone".  Were these scheduling options implemented, weaker teams would still play stronger teams, but those teams would not comprise the majority of their matches.  Instead, teams would - for the most part - play against similarly-skilled opponents (~ 2:1 ratio, well-matched vs. poorly matched).

 

I ask that all team captains point interested players toward this thread.

Also aren't 32w's and umbre really good friends? Both of them would make strong team.

I have to play with plastic HAWKEN to be able to record and I'm doing it

 

Plus I already watched some of her gameplay before, not sure what's annoying about recording a TPG game.

 

Audio recording is not needed FYI.

She was a prolific Hawken youtuber and is a reliably strong Hawken competitor, we'd all be better for it if she played with us.

To anyone on the fence about participating, as a player for whom TPG Hawken was my first competitive gaming experience I can say that it's a lot of fun, and the comradery you develop and the chance to improve your game are definitely worth the time investment.

I might be able to occasionally sub in for a player on W32's team, but my connection isn't reliable enough (especially at the hours when TPG matches are held) to guarantee attendance on any specific date or time. I'd definitely be a part-time 7th player if anything. I doubt I'll be able to play in practice scrims much, but I'm willing to help out a bit when I can and irritate everyone with my SS.

Hour? Usually anywhere between 9pm-midnight. It really depends on your team and what they can make.

I've never multi boxed in any game though, let alone Hawken.

But it'd almost be worth the crazy ban I'd recieve for it if I could figure out how.

I managed 2 games of Crysis 2 at once by syncing mouse and keyboard but that was a single-player FPS.

The trick is to have a number of dummy steam accounts and have an incredibly stacked team of mischievous jerks do the actual piloting, then throw any game that would actually end up mattering with weapon glitch or everyone in a g2r or something.

 

Hell, just lose every game by doing silly unworkable fuzzy bunny.  I'm volunteering the name "The Off-Beats" though I'm sure you'll come up with a better pun.

Currently, I am the captain of team 10. I'm not sure how or why I was thrust into this position, but that's irrelevant, and it's probably better it did happen anyhow.
