thx. it was a really sad.

Duke became very sick, many diseases at once. But the problem is that he was not even old (he was a strong and a large cat). The doctors said that it can not be cured, white blood cell count was very high level in his blood. The last few months, I fed him with a spoon or with my hands. and every day all the more the disease has progressed. He could not get out of my bed, and medicines could no longer help. I had to carry him in my arms, if it need. two last nights i even not sleep. because he began to breathe especially hard.

Today, he was incredibly bad. It was as though disorientation. Constantly he is trying to rise and fall again and again, as the hind legs refused to walk. And I made the decision to euthanize him. When I took him to a veterinary clinic, he started meowing, not to understand whats going on and looking around. It was clear that he wanted back home, in my warm bed. He tried to resist to the last, although he almost could not move by himself.

Tonight, standing in the rain, I was digging his grave. I still feel myself guilty.

I'm so sorry to hear that :(  Having to take the decision to let him go must be very hard but in the end you did what was best for him, from what you drew it looks like he had an awesome and happy life thanks to you.

Thats truly sad man.

I had a cat for 19 years.  It was the stereotypical cat you see on all advertisements, black and white.  Looked exactly like Sylvester the cat, white boots and a white tip on its tail.  In her later years every time you'd walk into the kitchen she'd meow and want fresh food and water, and it had to be fresh even if there was already food there from 5 minutes ago.  After a few years of that, my ringneck parakeet started picking up the meows.  It was really sad the first time I walked into the kitchen and didn't hear her meow, but the stupid bird did.

One day I came home from work and she didn't do her normal routine of following me into the kitchen.  So I looked for her and she was just laying under a chair in the dining room.  I picked her up and took her to the kitchen and when I set her down she wouldn't stand on her own.  I knew at that time the part I was fearing was going to happen soon.  I decided to do the same thing and take to to the vet to be put down, because I didn't want to the experience of coming home to find her dead somewhere.  I didn't want that memory.

You have to accept and realize that Duke was probably unhappy and most likely in pain, your decision to euthanize is nothing to feel guilty of as you were just ending the pain and suffering.  Don't blame yourself, like you wrote down, its part of life.  Its the worst part of being a pet owner, you normally outlive your pets.

And I realize you are most likely tired and distressed, but your death date on the illustration isn't correct, its only November 2015.

Sorry man, just remember the good times.

I'm really, truly sorry that you had to go through this, Nepa. Nothing hurts more than losing someone who you consider close, even if it is a pet.

If you ever need to talk to someone, please do not hesitate to contact me, I'm here for you pal :)

Stay safe, Nepa :)

Hey man, better the owner outlive the cat than the cat outlive the owner. It'd be terrifying to be a cat in a human world that's lost its human.

It always happens sooner or later. It sucks. Wish you the best.

since Duke sick, every day he is look worse and worse. his hair starts to fall out, permanent weight loss, and more other problems. It is hard to see how he was, and how to become. photo maded when he is not yet sick.

thanks for the support guys in any case.

It's a painful feeling, I've experienced it many times, though not as severe as this.. :(
I think what you need to try is to make a hot drink and lie in bed, maybe listen to some relaxing sounds, it may help ease the pain. I recommend green tea. :)

Best of luck to you pal!

Yeah, it sucks man.  Nobody ever thinks about death, until it happens.  You said it yourself, just listen to yourself, its part of life.  Theres nothing anyone could of done to prevent it.  You did your best and took care of Duke for many years, that was good enough man, I'm sure he had a happy life with you and your family.

Also, its still 2015.  :(

Aw man, I just lost my 19 year old fatcat 2 months ago.  That cat and I didn't really get along until the last 2 or 3 years of her life, and for the final year we were best pals.  She started breathin very badly for the last month or so and gave something like an "I'm ready to go" look to my mom and I.  That visit to the vet is pretty much seared in my brain, but at least I know I held her to the end and made it as good as it could have been.

Sorry to hear you had to have that happen too, but yeah, it's something we all sign up for when we get pets.  I feel you, bro.

My dog died about two years ago; he was a pound puppy, so I was never sure how old he actually was. But I imagine he was pretty old, he was already full grown when I got him (In 2005). Vet wasn't sure what was wrong with him, aside from some sort of anemia that came on incredibly suddenly and out of the blue, over the course of two weeks or so. So suddenly, that I actually didn't get the chance to take him to the vet at the end (We were trying some meds that the vet thought could help), I just woke up early one morning to wimpering and raspy breath, and thought, "OMFG, this is it? This is happening?" He literally breathed his final breath in my sobbing arms on my apartment floor. Watching the life leave the eyes of a living thing you've bonded with over years is an extremely surreal, bewildering thing. I will never forget it, and it makes me sad often, and probably always will. I'm sad about it now.

Ugh, those feels. I know your pain, it's rough.
