Hello, everybody. I used to play Hawken a while back. Just wondering if some of the familiar faces out there that remember me could summarize the changes currently implemented or supposed to be coming in the near future for the game.

 

To all my old Omni buddies. Hi. It's me. I am not dead probably. Miss the ol' Hawken days sometimes.

P.S. This is not intended to start a debate. Just want a summary since I couldn't find a good one after poking around for about 30 minutes. Not flame bait boys and girls.

They gave the manguard invisibility and damage buff ability, renamed it Leon.

• "A" mech TTK is around 0 now, mobility provides 0 survival benefit, you will get hit by a civ then hellfire from a bruiser behind, die 10/10

 

• gren is a turret mode again

 

• all your mechs got MOSTLY nerfed to make statistical differences between them and the new G2 mechs

 

• G2 mechs have your old stat value + bonuses in most cases, chassis is locked (i.e. piston chassis is zerk exclusive)

• there are no helpful patch notes

 

• hit reg is the worst its ever been

Leon, the TTK is reduced, and speeds buffed.  MMR is used strangely for MM (not meant as a joke), there's a bunch of broken features (like a leaderboard), and some pretty colored ribbons added.

 

Voice works.  Many people have broken mics. More people just use text chat still

They further reduced the TTK? I know I haven't played in a while, but there was a significant reduction last I played.

 

They sort of debuffed the gen-1's and buffed the gen-2's, while reducing health.  Thus, Arch's comment about A-Class TTK being about 0.  Kirby seems to fly higher than most, throwing off snap-aim TOWs (they're too low), but spacebar zerker seems to be a thing no more.

 

There are more B-classes, but their DPS is buffed in gen-2.  I think, but haven't played 'em much, TTK is down for them, too.

 

There are new C-classes, but C-class dodging has been nerfed, as has Gren's ability.  I would not choose Gren right now. 

 

For me, the most annoying of the new mechs is Ord; Vytro doesn't seem to get me uptight.  Jobs is a skinny Gren, IMO.

 

Any decent player is playing a Gen-2 right now, IMO.  HItboxes seem weird, but damage seems to pile up faster.  Thus, I say TTK is down (but remember, I play primarily A-classes).

who knows, i heard rumor they thought they made a mistake with the G2 concept and are willing to rework it so that might be something in the works, the last we heard about a PC patch be4 they hit us with this "soft patch" was they were tearing apart the UI so they can more easily make changes, so i guess that went well.

Hi to all The Alpha and Close Beta Guys who have returned back ... yep those where the good old days . Thanks for all the tips . I still prefer the Old Hawken and the weapon sounds.

 

Whatever happened to our AKA... Asainjoykiller... he was a beast of a player  among other top guys .

You can only modify loadouts outside the lobby, ie: the grid menu

Well, to say some positive things:

 

There are many more mechs to choose from - they're not as original or differing as one would hope, but they are there.

 

The frame-rate (for most people) is way better now.

 

The lag is less.

 

Voice Chat works again.

 

 

The games new version has a lot of bugs and oversights... and I don't approve of the faster  TtK or the smaller hit boxes.  But, that's all stuff that can and probably will be changing in short order (as short as we can expect from this team anyhow).
