WELCOME TO THE HKTS 1v1 TOURNAMENT!

Here's what you need to know:

1. SIGN UPS:

• Sign ups will occur by commenting your IGN and MMR in this thread. If you don't want people to know your mmr, you may send it to me in a PM.
• You must sign up by Saturday the 2nd of May.
• This is open to NA and EU players. If enough from EU join, there will be a separate EU bracket. If you are in EU and still want to participate in the NA tournament, include that in your sign up post.
• SIGNUPS ARE NOW CLOSED AND THE TOURNAMENT BRACKETS HAVE BEEN FINALIZED. THE TOURNAMENT IS UNDER WAY.

 

2. RULES:

• All matches will be played in the Test Arena or an agreed upon location on any one of the maps, as long as it is symmetrical. If no such location may be found, Test Arena will be the default.
• The match will be played in whatever region the two players have the most similar ping in, if no such region exists, one match will be played in each players respective regions, and the scores will be totaled to determine the winner.
• A match consists of a series of 1v1 engagements. The first person to win ten will be the winner of the match. Each player picks a mech at the beginning without knowing what the other will pick. A player may only switch mechs/weapons if they die.
• All mechs are allowed. No items are allowed. Air compressor is the only allowed internal.
• When the match is over, the score is to be reported in this thread and validated by the other participant (by way of liking the post).
• Any and all disputes will be resolved by the head administrators of the Teamspeak.
• Players are strongly encouraged to use the fightclub room in the Teamspeak to communicate during their matches.

3. FORMAT:

• The Tourney will be a single elimination. There may or may not be multiple brackets depending on how many total participants there are, what region they are from, and what their mmr is.
• Each player will participate in 1 match per week, starting the first full week of May, and continuing until all rounds are complete. Players will set up a time and server to play their matches through forum PMs. Once a time is confirmed, it will be posted in this thread. Any player who fails to come to a set time or fails to respond to a PM within the week will be disqualified.
• Players are encouraged to record their matches, upload them, and post them in this thread.
• People with spectator mode are encouraged to record/stream the matches.

4. PRIZES:

• 1st Prize 5000Mc 2nd Prize 2500Mc 3rd Prize 1250Mc
• Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each bracket.
• The Teamspeak works on donations. The more we get, the more we can give back to the community. If you would like to donate to the Teamspeak and the various projects we support, send an email to hawkenteamspeak@gmail.com. You will receive a special server group in the Teamspeak.

My MMR is a shameful 1600 (I think it keeps on changing and I'm too lazy to get it up.... MMR is weird ... I win it loses mmr I lose sometimes it goes up.... Confusing....)



Tho I don't know if I would be present at the tournaments on time and all due to IRL reasons, school and timezones.... Tho I would gladly try....

Hopefully there will be separate EU/NA brackets as well as different MMR brackets. We'll see how many people sign up. Side note, if you were to play against someone from USE, you would have the option to play one match in EU and one in USE.

Any dispute that would influence your chances in any way would not be for you to decide. The decisions will be made as a group so your opinion will not be final. I am participating. You should too. Also, the date is whenever you want. It will be a week by week event like the previous tournament.

Well, at first I was like "No items? Bad for tech. No way". But then I was all like "No items? No orblording! Yes way".

 

So yea, sounds like fun. Count me in. It'll be predictable as to what the winning mechs are going to be, but it might be fun anyway.

On a more serious note, if you would like to have the EU bracket have different rules, I can put up a poll. Actually, let's do that. If you're an EU player and you don't want people to be able to use the AC, like this post.
