I browse the forums. They're up all the time. On my third monitor.
I don't post. I mean. I'm one of the top posters... ever... on both forums. But not now!
This disappoints me. I like you guys.
Some of you.
A few.
How many other people that I like are just sitting here, waiting. Not participating except in the most trivial of fashions, skipping over almost every new thread, maybe even (gasp) doing something productive with their lives?
This is just a conversation thread. I'd like to keep some of the older people who have little reason to stop by, stopping by.
Introduce some personal details, what's new, what you're proud of, show us pictures, what you suck at, definitely show us pictures.
I mean, if this were a public park or forum or something, I'd bring some food and drink and comfy chairs and couches and maybe some super smash bros melee and a few beds and cars and things, but this is the internet, and I cannot.
Omni - tell us about your life outside of videogames. Some of us doubt it exists!
THC - tell us about your life outside of thc. Some of us doubt it exists!
Cluster - tell us about your life outside of being fourteen. Some of us doubt it exists! oh.
I mean, the community is what keeps me around, has. But that's about it right now. I don't want to drift away and all.
I'm aggressively learning C++ (8 hours a day figuring stuff out, debugging, writing things).
Fifth day in. Just wrapping up the third chapter here: http://www.learncpp.com/ though I spend a fair amount of time pinning down every single expression I don't know - and I'm very happy with the constant activity that can be found on stackoverflow.com.
Very much enjoying it. Every time I'm able to use something new to create a program that I couldn't before I'm all
Lagavulin remains the best Scotch ever.
Ardberg Uigedail is a good second. None of that pretend Lagavulin, Bruichladdich. (I won't complain if you send me it though.)
Schneider Weiss is competing with Jack's Abbey for favorite beer. (Though completely different in beers and brewing style.)
Blanton's remains a nice kickback for bourbon and Knob Creek for basically just violently forgetting existence.
I had this really nice job lined up in NYC/Patagonia/Tuscany where I would be working directly with the owner of a ... big... wine company to coordinate with press and other marketing stuff, but unfortunately they opted on another candidate prior to the third interview - which is sort of a shock, because I'm kind of good with those sorts of things.
Here are some songs that are good.
Prog Metal
(seen these guys, always been a goal to play with them, but they never wind up in the same place as me. My music taste has changed drastically over the years - I still enjoy almost all of what I ever listened to, but you know, preferences and all - but these fuzzy bunnyers have just. They've always just rode the crest of that wave no matter where it is in the stupid ocean that is music.)
Metal
(If you like this sort of stuff. Which. I. Uh. do.
Surf Punk
(These guys are hit or miss. What's good is really fuzzy bunnyng good. What's not is "What are these headbuds doing near my eardrums")
Classical
(Sarah Chang is just. fuzzy bunnyng. stupidly. What the fuzzy bunny. Everything she touches that is a violin could be used as a sex toy even if it was 20 feet away.)
Though more recently in classical:
(Been going through Doctor Who for the first time - that's a fuzzy bunnyng weird show (lol it's weird because it's England), but this is a much more engaging song than previously if you're not freakishly into violin, and she has a voice that's comparable to Chang's violin.)
Hip Hop
(I have no comment. This song is good. Vince Staples is good.)
But most recently I've just had "Mord Fustang Radio" active on Pandora, so I get stuff like this - none of which are really meant to appeal to the general discerning public, but still a little more casual and nice as background music to pretty much anything:
On food!
My dad's a chef. My stepmom's a chef. My mom cooks for an extended family of not going to count right now. Food has just been there for my entire life. I know food.
Kraft macaroni and cheese + some fuzzy bunnyng peas is a really good food. Terrible for you. Awesome.
There are better foods but that's what's on my mind right now at 3:30 on a Friday morning.
This is a picture of my dog in a sweater.
I understand when nothing happens here and all, we get dragged away by real life, but try and relate guys, I work all of 7 hours a week if that. There's only so much non-Hawken I can take.
That being said, since it's dragging us all away, let's drag a bit back here. Try for a second or two to put at least the forums back on monitor number 1.
